the Hotel Brauereigasthof Aying is a total Gem! Located about 40mins from the centre of Munich in a beautiful little village with views to the Alps to gaze upon whilst you await your S bahn into town. One of the highlites of recent trips to Germany has been to find different cities/towns that have not only a brewery in them, but a Bed/Breakfast within the Brewery. The hotel is an accessory sort of to the famous Aying brewery. No expense seems to have been spared in the creation of the hotel, its furnishings and ambiance. it was a really a lovely country hotel, pristinely cared for. Great breakfast, and the beer is not so bad :) more

The combination of a family owned brewery, restaurant, and hotel is unique, but I find this the perfect base for a visit to Munich as it is only half an hour by train right into the heart of the historic district. I stayed several times during some commercial fairs in Aying, and it's lovely. It's completely outside Munich, so you're more in the country-part of the munich area. Beautiful, quaint Bavarian atmosphere in a building that looks old but may be quite new. Extremely clean and comfortable. Located in a small village that is at the end of an S-bahn line into Munich. Out in the countryside with fresh air and QUIET but an quick and easy train ride into the heart of the city. Staff are excellent.... more
