I stayed here while on a business trip in the area. A very warm welcome from the hosts who were always happy to help. My single room was small but perfectly formed (while the antique furniture wasn't to my taste it did add character). The free WiFi was also a godsend on a business trip, so was well appreciated. Beautiful hotel with great atmosphere and Italian style. I liked also this small town Rubiera and its cathedral. Of course, the restaurant is great. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast is good, the location is very close to railway station - 500 meters I think. The only annoying thing was the very complicated Wi-Fi connection, which somehow worked only... More

On the way to visit the Ferrari Museum, we stopped at Aquila d'Oro. There's something special and odd in this Hotel: it's a 3 stars-only, modestly priced place that displays a high amount of antique furnitures, decorations, cosy lights that you'd expect in a higher rating hotel. Our room was very pleasant, with large bathroom. Few details looked a bit... More

Staying here first time, a decision I admit was the reputation of the ristorante. Not disappointed in anyway for dinner at the night of stay, fine gastronomy, specialities italian cuisine - proscuito di Parma, and cordial service. The room upstairs was clean, spacious, boutique-designed, and has a walk-in wardrobe which my mum was impressed. Wandering around the hotel aisle was... More

We stopped in Rubiera one night on our way south. This hotel, reserved on internet, delivered everything it promised and represented a good value for our money. Since we arrived on Sunday, the hotel was closed upon arrival (we had a bit of a fright), but someone eventually answered our rings (there was no notice posted on the door stating... More

I stayed at the hotel for a single night in June - while a little dated the rooms were comfortable and clean, the shower was functional and there was plenty of hot water. You go for the food (see separate review) and then for €50 have a room to stay - perfect when on a business trip or needing somewhere... More

I had great hopes for this hotel. I hade visited the 1-star Michelin Guide restaurant many years ago and had a great memory of that visit. This time I was looking forward to staying at the hotel in the same building. The rooms are very small and equipped as they probably were 30 years ago. There is a brand new... More

Dear Marcus S., I'm really disappointed with your review! Before now none of your collegues had never complained about our hotel and they're always very satisfied with our services! I really don't think we deserve this evaluation!! First of all our hotel is very clean, as you can also see reading all the other reviews on tripadvisor and on booking.com,It's... More

We stayed one evening and were warmly greeted. This is a charming inn filled with history. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable and I enjoyed the bathtub as showers are more frequently found in Italian, space saving bathrooms. Parking was provided. We enjoyed a breakfast with local breads and tortes, fresh fruit, juice, yogurt and caffe.

The Hotel is beautifully maintained and furnished, with terrific attention to detail and all spotlessly clean. The staff were all uniformed, looking exceptionally smart and all very efficient and pleasant to deal with. Our large double bedded room was very comfortable, the only minor detail being the lack of any shelf in the shower. Dinner was exceptionally well cooked and... More
