We stayed here for 3 nights (one longer than planned). It is a beautiful old building in the middle of the old part of Otranto next to the Cathedral. It has been renovated to a very high standard mixing contemporary and antique . Our bedroom was smallish but perfectly formed with a juliet balcony overlooking the cobbled street below .... more

If you ever find your way to Otranto, do stay at the Palazzo Papaleo.  One of the principals, Marc, saw us looking confused in the town square with a guide book in hand, guessed we might be looking for his hotel, led us down a narrow alley  - which just fits a car  - to the gem of a hotel.... more

As far as 5-star hotels go, Palazzo Papaleo has the most truly welcoming staff I have ever met. Marc, the owner, takes a real interest in meeting each guest as if they were visiting him in his home. The location is unique, behind the Otranto Cathedral, right in the city centre. Our room was not very large, but very comfortable, the staff was extremely friendly and full of attention! They gave us great hints for our dayly trips. more

This is a very nice small hotel staff only too eager to help,an old dwelling house originally set in the heart of old town,convienent for restaurants & bars etc.However it portrayal as a 5 star hotel I think is just stretching it a bit.Parking is a big problem the hotel don't have any and for one night I had to... more

It has been a wonderful week spent in Otranto with my partner. The hotel was exactly what I was looking for: quiet, comfy with an amazing team running it all. I will definitely visit again during our next trip to Otranto!!! more
