Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My family stayed at this beautiful villa for three weeks. The views of the vineyards, cypress trees, and rolling hills was magnificent. This villa is in a perfect location in Tuscany. It is near Castelnuovo Berardenga, which has seveal great restaurants (Enoteca Bengodi, AntoniMax, and Ristorante Quei 2) and grocery stores. On a clear day or night, you can see Siena in the distnce. Siena is about 25 minutes away. We visited several hilltop towns while we were there - Siena, Montereggoni, Lucca, Montepulciano, Lucignano, Bibbiena, Radda in Chianti, Castel Brolio, and several wineiries. The villa is nicely arranged and can hold from 14 to 18 people. We were very comfortable there, and will have many fond memories of our time spent at Poggio Bonelli

My wife and stayed 3 nights at Poggio Bonelli. We arrived and met at the vineyards main office. All the details of our stay were reviewed to make sure all our needs were met. We stayed in one of the 13th century buildings originally used in the production of wine. It was nicely decorated and furnished and was quite large. On one day, we were taking on a tour of the entire vineyard operations, which included a drive through the fields and tasting of ripe grapes - followed by wine tasting. This place is so relaxing it is difficult to leave the property. The views are amazing too.

Really nice place to stay, lost in tuscany nature. You ear anything but cicada. Apartments are full of charm, well furnished and comfy! The view from the terrace where you can eat is breathtaking and the pool is definitely useful in summer. Staff is very kind and thoughtful. We do recommend!

We had four of us in Casa Colonica for almost a week. The views are spectacular. The location is really great, close to Berardenga, spitting distance to Siena, with wineries and views to die for every way you turn. The deck for Colonica and the large living spaces are well beyond the norm for Chianti. Villa a Sesta and its remarkable restaurants are close by. As others say you must have a car to hang here. The staff is friendly and responsive. Vega is a nice dog and there are a couple of friendly cats running around. Far better than average Wifi for rural Tuscany. Thats the great stuff. The kitchen was good, it is also large, but lacks knives worth a darn and is a bit difficult to cook in. The oven is a counter top variety. It all works. but not great. As for the best, we found them pretty uncomfortable. That may be a personal taste thing And No easy access to a wine tasting on site you had to go to the Bonelli facility in Berardenga. NO in house laundry, but the staff will do your washing for you if you ask. Now to the bad. both my wife and i suffered a few bug bites while in bed. Perhaps mosquitos but maybe actually a minor bed bug infestation. Not terrible but a bad thing. And the vineyards have airguns that go off to chase the birds away. Not conducive to a good nights sleep for some. Didn't bother me but I am a heavy sleeper and not bothered by such things. Others made numerous comments. All in all its a good place but not perfect-

First, you definitely need a car if staying here, and be ready for the long, bumpy gravel roads as you enter. It's also a bit remote, however the town of Castelnuovo Berardenga is quite adorable and has all that you need if staying for a while. This is the perfect location if your plan is to take day trips to different parts of Tuscany (or you simply want a get-away where you can stay put for the week). You can't beat the value for the money, and the room/apartment we stayed in was wonderful; though we had people above us and we could hear them walking around at times. Great grounds, pool, and views that are out of this world; absolutely stunning! There was never really anyone at reception when we stopped to ask questions during our stay, however they make themselves available by text which is all you really need. The staff is wonderful and very helpful in that respect and great at getting back to you!! I could definitely see staying here again if my plan was to stay in the Tuscan region for a week or more.

We could'nt have asked for a more perfect place!!! Ilaria is so helpful and nice! It is in a great location. We did rent a car, which you have to do if you are staying here. It was such an easy drive to Siena. 20 minutes. We stayed in the Ambra (? spelling) room. It was the perfect size for us and had breathtaking views of the surrounding tuscany hills. We stayed 4 nights here and wished we would've booked our whole trip at this place because we loved it so much. We didn't have any plans while we were there, so we asked of local wineries. Ilaria told us of Dievole, which is about 25mins away... amazing place, great wine and the ppl there are very passionate about wine. There's also a winery right in Castelnuovo Berardanga (the town only miles away from poggio bonelli) which is beautiful and you can do tours/tastings there. Its easy to get into town and they have a couple of restaurants there. This place is very affordable and is clean and like I said is beautiful. Great location to drive around touring other Tuscany towns. I hope to be able to come back to Italy just stay here. I had trouble with communicating with Ilaria before we came... she's not very fast at replying, but found out she had been very busy because of harvest season.. dont let that deter you from booking here. :-)

Excellent value for money, amazing views, peace and quiet, very good customer service, english speaking, will definitely return. Situated in a beautiful area, just 15 mins by car from Siena. Stayed in 1 bedroom cottage with kitchenette and living area. Definitely stay in an agriturismo while staying in toscana so as to fully live the tuscan way.

If you want to spend few days away and find the Tuscan charm, this is the place to be. The scenery is amazing, the apartment is spacious, clean, comfortable and in an excellent condition. The service provided by Ilaria the person in charge of this property was amazing. She made us feel at home, she offered the best service you can ever imagine. She was of a great help. We had one dinner with a group that was there the food was just delicious. We also went for a wine tasting, very good, the chianti classic wine is excellent, and the olive virgin oil great taste. We even had cooking class where we learned how to make fresh pasta …. Tiramisu and focaccia ….. Overall it was an unforgettable experience, we do recommend to rent a car so you can visit the area and move around ….. But again the experience was amazing mainly due to the excellent hospitality of Ilaria ….. thank you
