We loved this place so much! Katherine and Lawrence were so helpful and hospitable. They made sure to give us recommendations and that our stay was comfortable and pleasant. We stayed in the off season and we would love to go back in the summer as well. This place was exactly how I envisioned a Tuscan vacation. Thank you!

Our family of four stayed at Casa Cernano in Castelnuovo Berardegna, southeast of Siena. The lovelingly restored 14th century Vatican farmhouse sits peacefully near the olive groves and vineyards. Eva was a gracious hostess and our two day stopover turned into four days of relaxing and soaking in the beautiful Tuscan landscape, and the wine. Located conveniently within walking distance to the village and restaurants.

We were so rested at Casa Cernano that we decided to turn Roma into a day trip and stay another night. We drove to Orvieto, took the train into Roma, toured our target spots in Roma via metro, cab, and foot. Then we returned to Catelnuovo Berardegna for a late dinner and a great nights rest!

For restaurants, try Del Pelegrino nearby -- Fabulous!

Our 3 night stay at Casa Cernano has been extremely pleasant and will always stay in our memories. Our room with fully equipped kitchen was thoughtfully decorated, very clean, felt very comfortable and had direct access to the courtyard and garden. Our 7 year old daughter connected immediately with their 8 year old son and enjoyed playing with him in the beautiful yard, the game stacked shed, or play table games in the courtyard. Catherine, Lawrence and Ethan are great hosts, very accommodating and very knowledgeable about the area. If one wants to learn more about wine or enjoy a glass of locally made one, you are also at the right address. The neighboring villages are lovely, with nice views of the Tuscan country side, restaurants and coffee with gelato in short distance, and Siena also very close by.
We hope to return soon to refresh and add to our memories.

We received a warm welcome from Katerina and Lawrence who provided some lovely wine and took the time to get to know us and understand what we were looking to get out of our visit. We shared stories and felt like we were part of the family and not just a guest.

The ‘apartment’ is a large and spacious room with a kitchen and bathroom connected for private use. There was wood pellet stove that kept the room warm and the windows kept out ALL the light.

Located in the hills this place offers wonderful views of the Italian countryside. The sunset was beautiful and the small town nearby quaint and authentic.

Highly recommend a couple days here to relax and enjoy the fresh air, local cuisine, and warm accommodation.

Beyond our expectations for our family of 9!! Our accommodations were immaculate & Catherine's homestyle breakfasts wonderful. All of Catherine's recommendations were perfect. Dining out, wedding plans, florist, winery (Felsina), tour of Siena.......Her B&B is located in a beautiful Tuscan setting & the barn was perfect for our children & adult wine sipping in the evening. We also fell in love with Bonnie & Clyde.....
My daughter was able to have her fairy tale wedding thanks to Catherine.

If you are looking for an authentic experience in Tuscany, this is the place to come. Catherine, the owner of the B&B could not be more hospitable. She helped us (9 people) make reservations at local restaurants and a nearby winery, Felsina (highly recommend). She also made breakfast for us every morning (served family style) and offered up ideas on things to do in the local area. We took a day trip into Siena (30min) which was also wonderful. Her house is immaculate and stunningly beautiful. My sister got married and we took many photos of her by the house, barn, and vineyards nearby. Catherine helped us organize the celebration and suggested a wedding planner who helped us book a formal dinner and the photographer. The whole experience was more than any of us could have imagined. Could not recommend this place enough!

A very cute and cosy Tuscan bed and breakfast just outside the town. The room is spacious and well kept. The grounds offers scenic views of the hillsides and a place to sit and watch the sun go down. The breakfast is plentiful and served on a long and expansive wooden table by a friendly host.

From the minute we got there I saw exactly everything I was hoping to see - a real Tuscany house. Top of the hill, vineyards and olive groves, lavender on ceramic stairs, wood, stone and a sense of something very real.
I wanted not just to see Tuscany, but to feel it, and I am so happy I chose this precise location as my home for two weeks. Catherine is a lovely host with a very fine taste. You can see it in the Casa - all those little details, like small live paintings, installations. You can feel it in the rooms and you can actually taste it. Everyday Catherine arranged a special something for us to try for breakfast - local cheese, parma, bread. Delicious. Then off we went, to see Tuscany, Chianti, Umbria - all those magical middle age towns just an hour or two away. It was so convenient - Castelnuovo Berardenga is just on the border of Chianti and Tuscany, which makes it a perfect homebase for short adventures all over the country. It's beautiful, it's peaceful, and Catherine gave us amazing tips on what's really worth seeing.

Catherine, many thanks to you, your mother and your family so much for our great vacation in Italy. Thank you for the hospitality, for the talks, the breakfasts with the music, for the advice and for that wonderful wine your husband is making. "Tenuta di Arceno" is my personal favourite from now on.
i really hope we can come and stay at The Casa Cernano again.

Love from Moscow,

Daria

This a lovely place to stay and relax in beautifully renovated Tuscan farmhouse buildings. It's a 10-minute walk into Castelnuovo Berardenga, it's very clean and comfortable and the garden is charming with a great view across to Siena. The breakfast is excellent and the family are very welcoming and helpful with local information. Good WiFi, good parking, easy access, great value!
