Upon my return , i am honored to write this review, thanking the owners family Lippi , Viviana and the rest of the staff of the Villa for everything they did to assist and assure our complete satisfaction. We have stayed there for 6 nights, a group of 31 (!) family members, on the occasion of a family reunion. From the very first inquiry mail, till last detail of organization and service- the standard was outstanding! Including a special preparation for facilities for a disabled member of our group. The Villa, the surrounding, the rooms, the food, the pool- couldn't ask for any better!! Thanks again for everything!! Anat & family

We visited Villa Poggio Bartoli recently for three nights for the first time and were truly impressed. Such a great and peaceful property surrounded by old threes. You can see horses, hawks and owls. There is also a outstanding pool with comfortable sun beds and even service. Our room was beautiful with huge bathroom and walk in closet, aircon, comfortable bed and all spotlessely clean most of all it was very calm. If you stay there you feel like a count. All the property was very well maintaint and parking is on site and safe. Sitting on the outstanding terrace for lunch and dinner simply perfect. Dinner and breakfast tasty and high quality with very friendly and attentive staff. Can't wait to come back.

Beautiful villa in a stunning location. Room We had booked 101, which we were told wad the nicest in the villa, it certainly felt like it, see pictures. First proper double bed in a beautifully decorated room. Ceiling a work of art and must be 15ft high. Coffee and tea making facilities, window with glorious views from the bed. Importantly, air conditioning much needed when it is 32 in the shade, Bathroom Massive! Double bath, twin basins, walk in shower set amongst marble pillars. Felt like we were staying in a palace. Villa Beautifully located run by Antonio and Vivieno who have renovated this beautiful old villa. Pool room, lounge, great terrace for sitting out on for drinks, dinner and breakfast. Food Prepared freshly by the chef Gino, who took us into the incredible original kitchen which features a massive, original wood-burning oven that Gino was going to cook all the food on. Typically, Italians have four courses, we can ever only manage two, so we shared a superb spinach stuffed pasta (pasta made by Gino) as a starter followed by local chicken, served in a pesto sauce, roast potatoes and roasted vegetables. Breakfast. ... made by Frank who came from Devon, talk about a small world and thank you for the delicious omelette, superb! Accessibility Sadly this is not accessible for those full time wheelchair users. If, like me, you can walk short distances with aids of sticks or crutches, then you shroud be able to manage. Bedrooms are in the first floor and even getting to the ground floor requires climbing steps. The swimming pool is down quite a lot of steps, so even I didn't risk this. But if you can manage some steps with sticks, put this on your list, you will not be disappointed and, treat yourself to room 101!

We stayed two nights here in June, a couple of weeks ago. I can't say enough good things about this villa. It belonged to the Medici family and still holds a great sense of history. Rooms are beautiful and air conditioning which was most welcome in such warm weather. The swimming pool is lovely also. And the eagles, owls and hawks are enchanting. The resturant is also very good.

Re-purposed Medici hunting lodge, done up right. Classy place with rustic undertones. Very good breakfast; very friendly staff. They let you relax. Vicchio is a 3-4 miles away if you need supplies or a train station. As excellent as this place is I would like to see the addition of a small refrigerator to keep water or wine cold. The owner has horses and falcons and a vegetable garden. I love the countryside here. We'll be back as soon as we can.

The place is a real little paradise. The villa is a real renaissance house. The people are smiling, competent and friendly. The owner is a Italian "padrone di casa ". The cuisine is real great Tuscan food. We decided not to go out for dinner for all the three evenings we spent there, after the first dinner. Then you can go with the owner to a hunt with the hawks. It's not cheap, this last experience. And a gamble. You will learn that hawks are free animals. And lazy too. The hunt when THEY want, not when you are paying to see them hunt. Anyway you just can enjoy the sun on the pool side and have some Tuscan snacks prepared for you by the kitchen with a bottle of cool white wine. Keep the red for the Fiorentina in the evening.

This is the most wonderful, breathtaking place!! Or perhaps I should call it a palace!! My husband and I had the absolute pleasure and honor of staying here for almost two full weeks!! It was for our honeymoon, so the time of year was the last week of September and the first week of October 2016. First, I must applaud the beauty of the place itself… Gorgeous chandeliers in every room, polished marble bathrooms, fresco paintings on the ceilings, original antique furniture throughout, very tasteful decorating. On the outside, the property is spectacular. A gorgeous stone veranda in the back with breathtaking views of the valley, and the pristine year-round pool. On the other side, the huge front patio area is romantically lit and well-kept with equally gorgeous views of the local giant trees and other flora. The location itself was remote, on a hill above a valley, so it was EXTREMELY relaxing. If you’re looking for peace and quiet – you will be very happy choosing this. The staff was remarkable!!! Spending nearly two weeks there, we got to know the staff very well. All of them were so kind and friendly. The chefs on staff make exquisite breakfasts and dinners. The owners were so personable and great!!! There were even private falconry shows and carriage rides, although our schedule didn’t allow time for it. I’m sure they would have been fantastic as well. Truly the best honeymoon EVER!!

We stayed here for two nights following three days in Florence for our honeymoon and I must say we wish we could have stayed longer. The setting is idyllic, the staff very friendly but not overbearing, and the rooms very large and comfortable. The pool area is very relaxing with views of the countryside. We also enjoyed the cooking class and carriage ride that was offered by the Villa. The owner himself even drove the horses and could not have been kinder. This was a wonderful spot to get a taste of the countryside without being too secluded - you are less than an hour drive from Florence. For a honeymoon or even a romantic long weekend Villa Poggio Bartoli is really something special.
