Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Caybeach Sun. It is 3* and reading some of the reviews, I was a little apprehensive, but I found it was the perfect spot for our family. The room was basic and clean, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the location was great, close to the beach and a relatively short walk from both the marina and the shops. The resort itself while quite big, feels small and homely. The same staff were on in the pool bar/restaurant and always took time to "high 5" our kids and say hello. The cleaning staff were very friendly and I found the place to be spotless (other than our own mess in the apartment which attracted some ants...but that's a certainty if your kids spill crumbs all over the place!) Special mention to Pika who was the entertainment organiser during our stay. This man is great at his job and is so good with the children in kids club/the mini disco. Not too many availed of the in-house entertainment while we were there (as they went to the beach or out for meals in the evening), but nonetheless, Pika was always full of enthusiasm. There was no wifi in our room, (which personally I found great, - it felt like a proper break!), but I saw lads laying internet cables while there, so this might be changing soon. Otherwise if you want wifi you have to go to the main reception area. There are very few English stations on the TV (other than a couple of news stations), but again I didn't go on hols to watch TV. The pools are lovely, but cold, so people don't tend to spend too long in them. Other than the baby/kids pool, they are quite deep too if you are nervous in the water. They don't allow big floaty toys e.g. big donut rings or lilo's but do sell them in the shop...maybe the shop staff could advise this before people waste money on them Andreas at reception was great craic too and always took the time for a chat. They could promote their facility a bit more e.g. I spoke to a family who didn't know about the laundry or the tennis court/football area until we told them at the end of their stay. Maybe this information could be included during check in. Overall, I would definitely go back for another stay in this resort!

We have just returned from an enjoyable week at the Caybeach Sun. The whole complex is very clean & tidy, staff are friendly & helpful & the beds are so comfortable. Yes the kitchens look worn but they are very well equipped. This accommodation offers great value for money but is a 10 minute walk from the main area of shops/restaurants & sea front. Not a problem for us but maybe for others. Wouldn't hesitate to re-book next year.

Terrible experience, went in march for 4 nights for my sons birthday, the life guard working on the pools offered us an illegal substance, when we declined he spent the last 3 days asking what are problem was, staring and asking my son for a fight, another older couple witnessed this and were shocked, reception staff staff said they would deal with him but he was back in the next day working as a lifeguard and still starting at us being aggressive ect, will never return to this hotel we dont go away to be treated like this.

Please don't belive the negative reviews. After a sucessfu holiday March 2023 returned this week for our second visit for some winter sun. OK the accommodation is dated but Cleaning apartment - excellent Cleaning Pool area & gardens - excellent Bathroom & Shower - Excellent Hot water - Excellent Staff - excellent Pools - excellent Gym & Indoor pool - excellent Deposits ( which are returned when you leave ) for Safe Key, Second Door Key, Aircon remote & TV remote means everything works in the apartment- excellent Buffett breakfast - excellent Location - excellent Value for money- excellent As you can guess my wife and I think it is excellent. We are experienced travellers and have stayed in worse 5 star accommodation than the overall facilities at the Cay beach sun. Yes it is rated a 3 star plus and we are only paying 3 star plus rates. That's part of what makes it excellent. We look forward to returning to this hidden gem in the future!!!!

This place is nice however a bit further out that may not suit everyone. Walk down to restaurants and bars 15 mins walking quickly. The apartments are basic but clean. Usual set up kitchen, comfy bed and bathroom. Outdoor setting area bus patio doors. We had a nice welcome however was a bit annoyed that we only got 1 key for the room. Had to pay an extra 6 euros to get an extra key. Pool area is great. Plenty of beds and pool was warm on 11th of November. There is another pool with slides etc for kids. This place is not 5 star and never claimed to be. At the price I think it is good value for money. I would stay here again.

Amazing amazing place. From the friendly reception staff, Ellie and Benny especially. Room service. The cleanliness. The happy hour. Oops twice a day. Taxis were available within minutes. So handy to the port in 3 minutes and Taxis are so cheap. Weather wasn’t great most the time, but who cares when you have Happy Hour. Oh, lots of Irish and very few children. No teenagers. Very very relaxing week. Will definitely definitely go again.

Just got back from a lovely 2 weeks here. Only reason I gave 4* is because one outdoor pool was supposed to be heated and it wasn’t (they were freezing). Also check in was a bit confusing re deposits, remotes, keys and towels & then they tried to make out that we didn’t pay a deposit when we returned them. Got sorted in the end though. Rooms are basic but clean. Beds are comfy. Hotel grounds are immaculate. Indoor pool lovely and warm (adults only). Had some ants in the room, told reception who soon sorted them. Didn’t eat in the hotel but you can pay on the day of you want to, the food looked lovely. 10 min stroll to the beach, 20 min to the Marina & 15 mins to the main strip. It’s 3* so if you want 5* don’t go here. I can’t wait to go back!

Arrived. Yesterday. No problems, but today. Ordered food seated at the. Bar. 1.hour later no food. Apparently it arrived as a takeaway. But similar food yesterday. Was plated served too our table, we didn't know it had arrived and we wouldn't touch a sweaty box takeaway anyway. Complained too reception, asked for manager which was refused, as. Well as a refund. Be warned. Terrible service. From petty crooks.!!!!

Just back from a lovely 4 night stay. Staff very friendly, rooms and hotel spotless. Large balcony and on-site shop with fresh bread and very reasonable prices. Adult only indoor pool was lovely. Book exchange inside and by pool. Vending machine if you need bottle of water 1 Euro. Can not comment on restaurant or bar as we did not use. Air con is only in bedroom but this time of year we did not need. Had a lovely relaxing stay.

We stayed in Apt 803. To start with the apartment and pool area are very clean. After that it is downhill. Reception staff were not very friendly or welcoming, with the exception of Andreas. On check in we were extremely surpirsed with all the deposits that were requested. We were only given one keycard, a second one required a deposit of €6.00. Also, deposit required for remote control for TV and remote control for air conditioning, as well as towels for pool area. The apt in itself was very dated and in need of updating. Furniture badly scratched and marked, as well as a rusty fridge and a wonky kitchen tap. Paintwork was bad throughout. Bedroom door and bathroom door could do with hooks on the back of them to hang clothes from. Bed linen was of very poor quality as were the towels. Our shower flooded the first time we used it, and the bathroom floor was soaking wet. We cleaned this up ourselves. When it happened again the next day we reported it to reception. Maintenance came we explained that the water was coming back up through a drain on the bathroom floor. We left him to it. When we returned we found our towels had been used to soak up the water and not replaced and the bathroom bin was placed on top of the drain. Two days later bathroom floor flooded again from the shower. This time it was much worse and came out into kitchen area and bedroom. We reported it at 6pm and said we were going out as we could not stay in the apartment the way it was. We arrived back at approx 10.30pm only to find that our apartment had not been attended to. We went back to Reception and were told maintenace were finished for the evening. Andreas, working on Reception, came and cleaned up everything. The next day we spoke to the Manager about it. He was not very apologetic and did not seem concerned. We found the whole complex, from entrance, reception and apartments dated and tired.
