We stayed at Unguja when they were only very newly opened in August 2007. We had one of the beautiful sea view villas and were simply blown away by the beauty of the hotel and by the wonderful service from the staff and the lovely owners. My husband, son and myself had a truly wonderful experience. I know that one... More

I have just returned from a wonderful four nights at Unguja lodge. This truly was a fantastic place to relax, explore the beautiful island, try out some water activities, and soak up the warm, friendly and luxurious atmosphere of this lodge. I stayed in a sea-view room. Actually, 'room' is the wrong word - it's a hugely spacious villa. The... More

Thank you very much for staying with us in April and for your very nice and informative review. This is highly appreciated. We agree with you that the 'low season' months of March and April are very nice to travel to Zanzibar: a lot of sun, a shower every now and then, a quiet island and attractive rates! We look... More

We were in sep 12 and it was a wonderful experience. Rooms are beautiful, place excellent, food amazing and service very charming and nice with guests. It's an ideal place to stay 2-3 days and explore the surroundings, the lodge easily organize for you with a taxi or similar to go around the island at very good prices. The rooms... More

Stayed here for two nights with my young son aged 8 and we found it a very friendly, welcoming lodge. The rooms right on the beach are vast with a double downstairs and a double upstairs which is open to the elements and those cheeky monkeys which all adds up to a great stay. The beach is tidal so be... More

This is a stunning lodge, in a great setting with perfect hosts and staff. The second we arrived we felt so welcome by owner Elise and manager Mona. Set in a green, lush setting by the beach we were greeted by black tailed monkeys while having our welcome drink. The villas are immaculate and really in keeping with the surroundings.... More

We (family of 5) stayed in the Unguja Lodge for 6 nights at the end of our trip to the mainland (as most people do, I presume) and after our stay in Stone Town. Our villa nr 12, the last in the row on the north side, was very spacious and very comfortable. The grounds are very well maintained with... More
