We stayed at Castle Hornberg on a recent holiday to Germany. Our four year old son wanted to spend the night in a castle so we did some internet research to find a castle hotel that was on our vacation route. You have to drive up a very steep hill and through an archway into the courtyard to arrive at the castle, this was impressive. In the reception area there is a "Brave Knight" so our son was immediately amused by this. We had arranged a room looking over the Neckar which was in the tower. There were many stairs but it was easy to navigate. Our room had a separate single bed built into the wall which our son really thought was neat. The room was very comfortable, although too warm. No air conditioning (of course, this is Europe) but there was no ceiling fan either. This was really the only downfall to our stay. The view over the Neckar was impressive.
