We spent a night here during a tour of the North Island. The unit was excellent and the owner was a mine of useful information. We enjoyed our stay and it was a very good stop. The unit was in excellent order and we had a restful and pleasant stay. Pauanui is a fascinating place with a sizeable “weekend home”... More

This was a last minute booking, we were accommodated in a clean friendly environment. I couldn't fault it, staff great, room excellent, location very handy. I would highly recommend the Pines Motor Lodge, we will be returning. More

Our family of four stayed in Jan 2012 in a two bedroom unit that whilst not glamourous accomodation was very comfortable and incredibly clean and well maintained. Well established gardens around the units and outdoor settings in front of each unit made for a very pleasant setting. Our children enjoyed the pool - clean but not overly large and a... More

We stayed on 29th and 30th January 2012 in a 2 bedroom unit ( unit 2 and 3 ) being a couple and 1 child of 10 years. We stayed at Pauanui Pines over 10 years ago when the previous owner had it, and it was purchased in 2006 now being run by the current owners Barry and Robyn for... More

Its a great place to stay and we were pleasantly surprised on reaching there. The receptionist was very friendly and personally showed us around to our cottage. The cottage has three rooms along with a kitchen which is furnished with kettle, microwave and cutlery. It is a pretty wooden cottage surrounded by the most beautiful landscape. The sea is not... Lets start by saying the owner was fantastic and helpful and a joy to chat to. The location was not so good for us whilst it is a very scenic area, there is little to do beside the beach and the pub or supermarket. The properties whilst a little unappealing from the outside, are very clean and tidy inside. The... More

Hello Nomad Thank you for your kind comments about me. However I firnd the rest of your review somewhat confusing. We are not just for families, as indicated by the room types we have. There are 15 one bedroom units and 3 two bedroom units, hardly built for families only. You say there was little to do here, but you... More

During our trip through the northern island, we stayed at Pauanui Pines for two nights. At arrival, the friendly owner Barry gave great hints on what to do and where to eat. He suggested to eat at a restaurant in Whitianga, which is at driving distance from Pauanui. On your way to Whitianga there's plenty to do. The accommodation was... More

We had the opportunity to stay here recently after a wedding in Auckland and found this place through TA. Although not completely up to the minute in furnishings - I would have to say that this is quite possibly the CLEANEST place we have ever stayed in. Although Pauanui as a town has a very very sleepy feel to it... More
