Founders was our favorite B&B in New Zealand. The rooms were charming, well-appointed, and very light. I hesitate to write this review because I don't ever want to be in a position of not being able to stay here because it is booked! We stayed here on the front end of our 25 days in NZ and the problem going forward was that the bar was now set pretty high. The inn is only 6-7 years... more

We really enjoyed our stay at Founders. Chris and Peter made us feel completely at home. The property is fairly new, very clean and although it's purpose built, they made us feel completely welcome in the lounge area and on the great patio. The hosts are as nice and informative as could be. The location is excellent, near all that you could want to do without being in the touristy area. The rooms were well furnished, the bathrooms were excellent and the breakfast was incredible. more
