The restaurant and bar service is exceptionally poor due to a lack of staff training and supervision. Just returned from a day at Barnsdale using a Living Social Deal for flotation therapy and lunch. Can't fault any of the day, all staff friendly and helpful. Food high quality and everywhere clean and tidy. Treatments not overpriced and we were also pleasantly surprised that the drinks weren't either considering its an upmarket hotel. My husband and I had a very enjoyable week staying here in one of the timeshare apartments. The hotel is set on the edge of a slight hill and therefore it's not easy for elderly or disabled. Lovely room with views over Rutland water. Service in the bar and restaurant was terrible. We addressed our concerns to the duty manager at check out. He was very polite and apologetic, refunding the cost of our evening meal. Very disappointing and we would not recommend this hotel.

Used a wowcher and upgraded to a really good big room with excellent views. The pool and jacuzzi area was fine and we enjoyed two afternoon visits there. We visited Barnsdale Hall Hotel for a spa day, part of a voucher scheme bought for us as a gift. When we arrived, having been to many other excellent spas, we quickly realised that in our opinion this is not a spa, it is a health club for the hotel and local area.
