Having been canoeing with our sons all day, we arrived exhausted at Torchattan House. Nice friendly welcome, but certainly not a place I'd recommend. We were told the boys would be staying downstairs – now they're both 13, so they're big enough laddies, but we were not prepared for what came next. We were taken through the house, outside, down some stairs to a room which was quite obviously a basement. It was clean enough and well painted, but was basically a cellar with two beds. The boys toilet flushed continuously until they figured out how to stop it. There was also some clothes in the cupboard. My brother and I then went back to the house, upstairs to our rooms. His room had a wall of cupboards which were suspiciously padlocked (what was in them?) and a dodgy taped up kettle lead. There were no smoke detectors in either room.
