Stayed here for two nights as a family of four. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating throughout the stay with no complaints. The room itself though was very dated and The Lodge is in need of refurbishment. The room had a slightly "fusty" smell to it, although the sheets were all clean. The bed was far from comfortable. The... More

Stayed here in June 2013 for one night as part of a weekend travelling around Rye, Camber, New Romney etc. Nice location about 10 minutes from Rye and just on the edge of the lovely little town of Winchelsea. The hotel is in a very admirable location, no other buildings around at all. Ample free parking available. We had an... More

Last year, Bank Holiday weekend in August we decided to go to Rye. As everything in Rye was fully booked we found this Lodge. Was relatively cheap so we were not expecting much and what a surprise we had. Extremely nice staff, clean rooms, nice view with some sheep giving an amazing character to the place. DEFINITELY WILL GO BACK!

Stayed two nights with our two children aged 9 and 11. The location is perfect - a 5 minute walk to pretty Winchelsea village and a short drive to Rye or Hastings. The countryside setting is very idyllic - the children loved seeing rabbits running around outside their window! The room could do with modernising slightly but was very clean... More

We're just back from a couple of nights at The Lodge. The whole hotel is well looked after and spotless throughout, the rooms are a good size and as others have mentioned, offer everything you need, from tea/coffee, little toiletries to keep you going and hair-dryers if you need one. The views surrounding the place are absolutely stunning and a... More

Booked in at very short notice and were made very welcome. Good location for sightseeing, right next to A259, but road very quiet at night. Staff were all lovely and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Restaurant and bar very nice, good continental breakfast was included in the price. Food was excellent on our first night and still good... More

Stayed for two nights over the May Day Bank Holiday, so encountered a bizarre amount of bikers. The room was beautiful, with a great view of the hills out the back. The setting of the hotel is pretty much perfect, the bus stops right outside but you can walk into the hills and there's plenty of wildlife. We walked into Rye,... More

The Lodge is classed as a "Motel" as the roomy and well equiped, if a little dated rooms are accessed in the open. However they are well arranged around the central reception, bar & restaurant block so nothing is far away. The setting whilst on the Hastings Road is in lovely countryside just a little way out of delightful Winchelsea... More

Stayed here for two nights over the recent May Day bank holiday. Very comfortable room with wet room. Staff extremely welcoming and friendly. Normally prefer a hotel within close walking distance of amenities but restaurant served good food, very reasonably priced so wasn't a problem.

We stayed here for 2 nights - very family friendly and welcoming. The room was excellent with full amenities. The bed was comfortable (possibly the only hotel bed I have ever had a good nights sleep in). The bar/restaurant were great - food was very good and the price excellent. The service was warm, welcoming and friendly - nothing was... More
