We visited the Astarea during the first week of a two centre holiday with Saga. The interior of the hotel was fairly modern, bright and welcoming. The bedroom was very small as was the balcony although we did have a reasonable sea view. The food in the hotel was excellent with plenty of choice. The exterior of the hotel and... more

My wife and I had an amazing week in croatia. We stayed in the small fishing village of Mlini, only a 15 minute bus ride from the old city of Dubrovnik. Mlini is a stunning little village with great restaurants and cobbled streets. It is situated between Dubrovnik and Cavtat. Dubrovnik is an awesome city and was compared by many... more

The Hotel Astarea is a large complex in Mlini, Croatia (about a 20-minute drive south of Dubrovnik). The Astarea and Hotel Mlini are co-owned and create a sort of "complex" of hotels, restaurants, cafes, and gift shops that dot the shore of Mlini. The Astarea is large; it has 1 main building with the hotel lobby, restaurant, piano bar, banquet... more

I was very pleased with the hotel. I travelled with a friend for a relaxing holiday and that is exactly what we got. The hotel had everything we were looking for, its a couple of hundred metres from the beach, has greaat facilities (gym, even a hairdresser!) etc. The only criticism I would have is the breakfast...which is not great.... more

Location, location, location. The Astarea is a hotel built during the Tito Communist era. Put it in perspective...rooms are small, but equally small. all rooms are the same. There are main hotel rooms and "Bungalow" units on the water's edge. All are in a protected bay in the delightful enclove of Mlini. The local neighborhood includes a beautiful forested park,... more

I visited Hotel Astarea May 14th for a week with my husband and two friends. Our rooms were very small but had a lovely view and sunny balcony. They were kept clean and the towels were changed daily but did get very hot as the air conditioning didn't seem very efficient. I didn't use the pool as it was indoors... more

The Astarea is set in a lovely location. There are shops around and nice restaurants - i would suggest one called 'Laterna' they are friendly and good with children as i have three ( a baby, and two toddlers) and were very good with them. A supermarket is about a 10 minute walk away. The beach really is lovely! Its... more

Great hotel. Staff friendly, good location - although at bottom of a steep hill so not great if walking is a problem and you want to go and catch a bus; good facilities (although they're not big on telling you what facilities they have), beuatiful area and views. Easy to get into Dubrovnik. If you go for half board option... more

Hotel is in a lovely location with beautiful sea views.Food & service were very good but don't get caught "smuggling" fruit from the restaurant (although the locals have this down to a fine art ! ) Main criticism was the price charged for use of the sauna----charges are displayed so we discovered but in small print & not obvious places.... more

We had a fabulous holiday staying at the Astaria Hotel in Mlini. The walk down to the beach is very picturesque and we were very lucky to have fine weather in October. The coastline is stunning with beautiful greenery right down to the beach area and the architecture is something to marvel at. It is a struggle to walk uphill... more
