Friendly hostel set in a perfect location for some beautiful tramping! Rooms were modern and clean, and there was plenty of comfortable lounge and kitchen spaces for relaxing and chatting with friends.

The four in our group had a private room, good-sized, with 2 large windows. The bathrooms and showers were large and clean. It was a very cold night, but our room heater worked well. We enjoyed using the shared kitchen and lounge, as well.

Clean. Friendly. Awesome. Great value. Cheers bob and co you have it spot on. Also if the weather is good you have to do Avalanche Peak. The views really are out of this world. Wow wow wow. Apparently I now have to write a 200 character review. To satisfy trip advisor. Great great great place to stay.

We are "Elders" (74) who have experience YH's all over the world. This is definitely one of the better ones. We had our own room in the new part. The room was similar to what you would get in a superior Motel without the ensuite. This was no problem as there were plenty of toilets & showers close to the... More

The Frontdesk Guy was extremely warm and helpful on tips we needed to trek around Arthur's Pass. He even offered a Guide Map when The Information was Closed for the day. We did the check in a little passed their operation hours but they still waited for us before they close for the day as they were expecting us. The... More

We booked a room here after reading about the choices of places to stay at Arthur's Pass. We knew that we would share a toilet with others, but have a bedroom of our own. When we arrived, we found out that we would be staying in a small house a short walk from the main YHA Mountain House site that... More

Arthurs pass is merely a very long stretch to drive. Very little there a bar a shop and a yha and a hotel. The bar served good food next door but closes early round 9pm. The yha however is good value for money we had a really warm welcome and the simple room was warm and clean. Would stop again... More

We stayed here because the weather was horrendous and we didn't want to get our tent wet before tramping. It turned out to be a great hostel - huge kitchen, clean, and Arthurs Pass is such a spectacular place. Very good facilities, and a reasonable price given it's such a small town.

Good value - and with a much nicer view, location and room than many other hostels I have stayed at. It is next to the store and across the road from the main bar. The staff were friendly and there were no issues at all.

This hostel is very nice - well maintained, well equipped and very clean. Location wise it's perfect for the hiking trails of Arthurs pass and for the local store and restaurant. Only a bit of an obnoxious encounter with the owner let this place down - a simple question over getting the heat on in the room (it was pretty... More
