We booked a special father/son weekend away here with my 15 year old. We booked through hostelbookers confirmation received - all seemed OK until my wife phoned to let them know we would be late. They claimed to her that they had no knowledge of my booking, would not honour it despite her reassurance that we had written confirmation, and... more
We regret this person is so unhappy but there are two sides to every story. We did miss the information that he had booked and apologised for that as his booking email had gone into our spam mail. He was invited to come anyway and we would keep the office open until he arrived. He chose not to do that....
I stayed at Rawhiti only for one night, but I really liked the place. It's set in an old maternity ward, so contrary to all the cheap, modern hostels, it has big wide corridors and high ceilings!
