We are frequent travellers around NZ and stay at many beautiful lodges but this one is amazing ! We were on our MotoGuzzi motorbike arrived in the rain to a lovely warm fire and lovely spa pool, what more could you want. My boyfriend and I recently stayed in the self contained Garden Suite at Beluga Lodge and it was the highlight of our holiday. The place was wonderful - suite, garden, spa and gorgeous lounge were all fabulous and really well appointed. My fiance and I went to Methven so that we could ride Mt Hutt, and stayed in a Lodge room at Beluga. We found the Lodge to be very conveniently located, very clean and very neat. The hospitality Arlene and James affoarded was fantastic. Breakfasts were cooked to perfection and the drying room for our gear was very handy. more
We got a last minute booking for Beluga for one night and will now always choose to stay here if stopping in Methven. Our room was the garden suite (described perfectly by another reviewer) and despite being in almost a totally detached building it was warm and comfortable. I could stay there for weeks! We agreed with your comment about the old 14" tvs.....all rooms now have brand new flat screen TVs and Sky.
After 5 nights in one of SkiTime Luxury Villa (cf. my other review), we moved to this lodge. Everything in this small lodge (4 rooms + 2 'suites' with kitchenette + 1 cottage) is wonderful and friendly: the comfortable sofa around the fire place, the kitchen, the lovely garden and the rooms (although quite small).
