From the moment we arrived I knew this place would be special. The best view from the top floor room that we had for 3 nights. The hotel is itself was well presented and the staff always helpful and friendly. Will be going back again in the near future.

Nothing prepared me for waking up the following morning. The views were simply stunning. The mountains were covered in snow. The place to getaway and forget everything and relax. A great place to stay to visit the glaciers and go on long walks.

I had visited this hotel previously whilst traveling with a tour but we never stayed here. I just couldn't believe our luck to be staying in this wonderful setting. Our room was very comfortable and we had an uninterrupted view of Mount Cook. I found it difficult to take my eyes off this inspiring mountain. Just a wonderful place. Thank... More

Definitely worth staying just for the great views while eating breakfast. Check-in was easy and service was pretty good. I liked the decor with lots of dark wood gave it a very distinct feel. My wife says it smells a lot like the science wing of her university but I didn't find that at all. The superior room we stayed... More

we had a very great stay in Hermitage Hotel (Chalet for family of 3 persons) in Feb. 2013. Very nice views (sunset view of MT Cook), very nice dining in The Panorama Room, very convenient to the fantastic activity of Galcier Exploerers. We hope we could go there again in the future. Highly recommended.

The Hermitage Hotel is amazing. The hotel itself does speak of a ski lodge with open passages, the rooms are nice and large with beautiful views and comfy beds. The bathroom is nice with good water pressure and enough counter space for two. Wifi is $5 and hour or $15 for the day -- we didn't use parking. Complimentary binoculars... More

I hope this review is in the right place as we stayed in one of the motel units attached to the Hermitage Hotel. This was our 1st motel stop on our NZ holiday and made a very nice start. You have to check in at the main hotel reception and isn't immediately obvious where to park to do this. We... More

Had an excellent stay here for two nights. We were in a Superior Room with a balcony, as we requested, and had a beautiful view of Mt Cook. The staff in all the locations went out their way to help us.

We booked the Southern Adventure Package which included a mountain view standard room, one buffet dinner, full breakfast, entrance to the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre and the Glacier Explorers Lake Tour. The modern room on the second floor (No. 215) is 16m2 and shower room 4m2, having a balcony over the width of the front with view of Mt.... More

The Hermitage is a very comfortable and elegant place to stay. We found the staff friendly and obliging. We had a room up high in the new section of the hotel with excellent views of Mount Cook. The buffet dinner in the restaurant was very comprehensive with very good food. We will definitely stay here again. The attached Edmund Hilary... More
