We decided to go to Derbyshire on the spur of the moment and were lucky to find that Baslow Hall still had rooms available (although the late booking meant we didn’t have the selection of all rooms and prices). When explaining we intended to eat in the restaurant, we were offered the ‘Food Lovers’ package which included two tickets to... More

Convenient to Belvoir Castle, Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth House, this hotel has good sized rooms, excellent service, and superior meals. The garden and grounds invite you to wander about. We definitely would return.

My husband and I booked an overnight with dinner on the spur of the moment and really enjoyed Fischers. The Hall is gorgeous, set in lovely gardens. Our room in the Garden House was comfortably furnished and tranquil and dinner simply fabulous! Their reputation is well deserved. Thinking we'll be back.........................

I booked a one night package with the Taste of Britain menu for my partners birthday and was not disappointed. The hall is set within beautiful gardens which have an array of different gardens growing many of the products used within the menu. The hall itself was simply lovely and staff were warm and welcoming. I booked a superior room... More

We've reviewed this restaurant before so we need only say its still outstanding and the £20.13 for 2 courses lunch menu is outstanding value for this quality of food. I'd especially recommend the trio of fish which was exceptionally good even if twice the price.

First class service and food.Excellent room Garden no1,very comfortable ,large and roomy.Only extra missing was a fridge.Went for the Taster menu, excellent food though could have done with more than one scallop and a bit more lamb, but the tastes of every dish were varied ,subtle, and making you want more.Only down side was a rather large guest ,who was dressed as a... This was our first visit to Fischers to enjoy a belated celebration for my husband's birthday. We went as a family of 4 with 2 children aged 11 and 14 who also thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable (Rutland and Haddon). W received a really warm welcome and enjoyed complimentary coffee and home made biscuits... More

My partner booked a visit here to celebrate my birthday. Before we went he said 'given their publicity they have a lot to live up to!' and they did just that ... and then some. Our room was beautiful, the chocolates and champagne that he'd ordered to be there for our arrival were wonderful, the room was gorgeous and the... More

One of my favorite resaurants, as a party of 8 we had the private dining room. Meeting and greeted with the ususal excellent welcome. We all ordered the taster menu which was expensive, but in the past the food has been exceptional . This time we were however not overwhelemed, the food was good and presented well but not the... Whilst we can't be described as regulars, this was our fifth visit in the last couple of years and for us, Fischers represents a constant excellence we can rely on. The only major problem we now face is that the Mother in Law isn't really interested in eating anywhere else when she comes to stay! Starts out in a cosy... More
