Could not find fault with our one night stay. An excellent location when visiting this part of Derbyshire, and very accessible to Sheffield too! A quick, friendly check-in and a very clean and comfortable room. The food menu was excellent as were the meals we ordered. Breakfast was cooked to order and faultless. All the staff were friendly, polite and... More

Our group ate here. The service was very attentive. My steak, however, was too tough to cut. They readily replaced it with another choice. The pub staff were most friendly and efficient. Others in my party either said their meal was excellent or only so-so. I would try the Devonshire Arms a second time before making a final decision.

Very warm welcome (even though we were a little early to book in) and then the warm, friendly staff reaction throughout the stay was a lovely feature of this excellent Inn. Good sized, comfortable room with separate secured entrance away from the bar/restaurant area. Bathroom/toilet facilities were good. Parking good while we were there in May but it may be... More

We stayed at The Devonshire Arms whilst visiting the Chatsworth Horse Trials and the location was fab, just around the corner basically. When we arrived there was a mix up with the room but the staff couldn't have been nicer about it and we were offered a complementary drink whilst the problem was (very quickly) sorted out. The pub itself... More

Great local for our family and regular visitors to the restaurant. Usually 1st class but service poor today. Clearing dishes while we are still eating is always a no no. Unfortunately roast beef sold out and slow on veg. Hope this is just a blip and not complacency.

Stayed Saturday night, staff a credit to the place, nothing too much trouble, and all served with a smile. Food very good, really enjoyed my evening and slept like a log. Rooms very warm and comfortable. Travelled alone and was made to feel very welcome indeed will stay again in the future.

A well placed inn in a lovely location. Great food in the restaurant which was served by cheerful staff. Our only problem was the hot water system which one night decided to turn on every minute. Unfortunately as a pub with rooms there's no night porter so we got very little sleep. However everything was sorted out the next morning... More

Popped into here at teatime on the way back from Manchester to Sheffield and was very impressed! A great atmosphere and the perfect way to relax after a busy day. The decor is great, loved the tiles in the round room! Service was prompt and friendly, we started with nibbles of lovely olives and the nicest pickled onions I've ever... More

We enjoyed lunch in the tea shop. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The tea shop sells cakes, which looked fantastic, and a good selection of teas and coffees. You can order off the restaurant menu in the tea shop. We enjoyed the sandwiches, whilst my son had a very good quality children's meal. I would definitely visit again... More

A very pleasant place to stay. Starting with the pub side of things, decor wise it has recently been refurb'ed so in my opinion is a tad antiseptic at the moment but this will settle down over time (of course this may appeal to some!) When we first arrived they had a problem with their computer system so were unable... More
