hotel staff the rudest i have ever come across in 20 years of travelling.hotel ok if you are spanish, italian or german, they have no consideration or any interest at all if you are a british citizen. food was not fit for purpose, nothing labelled on any of the food so it was trial or error, mostly error.rooms were very tired looking and maids... more

Hotel Mare Nostrum was in a pleasant location very close to the beautiful beach (Playa d'en Bossa) and about a 15 - 20 minute walk to Ibiza Town. Also very close to Space and Bora Bora, however we went during the off season and it was wonderfully peaceful as none of clubs had opened up yet. The worst part of... more

We went to this hotel a few years ago, and I believe it as now change hands, Italian people own it. When we went, it was our first time abroad, and the food was 11 out of 10, the rooms were very clean. The only downer we had with this hotel, that it had no air conditioning, and we found... more

Well again like the last review it is difficult to rate this hotel. I understand why people have put certain things about italians and stuff like that here goes anyway. We arrived early evening on a Sunday and it was very busy in the hotel lobby as it was every night. Tons of groups of Italian lads. I expected this... more

I can see why there are so many mixed reviews for this one. It all depends on expectations I think. So rather than say it's good or bad, to try and help anyone trying to get a picture of this place, I will try and paint one: Italians? Yes, there are heaps. We are living in Europe people and I... more

Having read the reviews before we were due to go we didnt know what to expect. On arrival it didnt take long to realize that we were in the minority (ENGLISH SPEAKING). About 90% of the guests were ITALIAN, 18-30 age group (WHO ALL LOVED THEMSELVES) wore sunglasses to brekie, in the pool and probably in bed!!!!!!!!. All in all... more

The staff were not very helpfull when approached to call a taxi for the airport, so had to walk outside the hotel grounds and wait for 30 mins to hail a dodgy taxi. My friend who is 6 months pregnant were waitig for the lift... more

Stayed 4 nights in this hotel. Staff were pleasant. True that there were lots of young italians but they seemed to be well behaved and were there to have fun.......(but hey Ibiza is a party island right?) Value for money, close to Bora Bora beach, clean and fun. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again. more

We booked our room there since March. When we got there, they told us that they moved us to Playa Sol, which is owned by the same hotel. Playa Sol are dingy apartments. Our room was in a dark corner with water leaking all over the floor, the A/C didn't work, we had to leave the key across the street... more

My friend and I have just returned from our stay in Ibiza at the Mare Nostrum. Having read some of the other more negative reviews i was a little nervous when we arrived, but i guess like anything else, everybody has different opinions! The hotel was fantastically clean - our room was cleaned and towels changed every day (apart from... more
