Having been to Gangtok quite a few times for "work", we wanted an alternative this time, and chose, after reviewing hundreds of websites and talking to numerous travel agents, the Royal Demazong. Hotel Royal Demazong. Experience wise great in every sense. The first thing that will take your breath out is its natural ambience. Rooms are well furnished, with almost every amenities One could expect. But service wise one may not be that happy as in other cases. Sometime it will take you long to prove your point before the Hotel management.... more

Hotel is located about 10 kms from the main city. Commuting from this hotel can turn out to be a costly affair. Dinning options are very limited. They do not have a menu for meals, they only offer buffet. As there are no options nearby, one has to go for the buffet. But hotel offers breathtaking view of the mountains.... more

Overall I would say this is probably the best resort we have ever stayed in the Himalayan holiday and I am extremely fussy! Perhaps not the most convenient if all you want to do is sight seeing in a Car/jeep the whole day, but if you want to mix a little luxury with peace then this is an absolute must... more

Royal demazong.... away from the hussels of the gangtok city. It is about 5 kms away from gangtok on your way to nathlla border. Very nice property. Very big rooms with all the ammenities. Nice view and very peaceful loaction. If you want to be away from the the city in the peaceful environment then this is what you are... more

Its 15 minutes from Town. The Royal Demazong Resort in gangtok is probably the best Resort/hotel in sikkim. The staff were courteous & perpetually smiling.
