This is an almost new tourist spot in south Sikkim. Situated at an elevation of about 8000 ft the small picturesque semi town on the Gangtok-Pelling highway, Ravangla is becoming a hot tourist-spot for its breathtaking landscape and tranquility.

Ravangla offers an undisturbed view of the snow ranges of Greater Himalayas. Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Pandim, Mt. Sinialchu, Mt. Kabru are the major peaks that are clearly visible from here. Ravangla is a very clean and neat hamlet and has a monastery and a wildlife park amongst its many attractions.

Regretfully however the resort itself cannot be recommended. Firstly, it is off the main road and approached via a one km steeply rising path with numerous hairpin-bends. The surface is so stony that it rattles and jars the insides of every vehicle that dares to traverse it, and cuts into the thickest soles of shoes of those courageous enough to trudge the long way up or down. It is so bad...
