Stayed in the Vital Spark room at the Royal George Hotel, the room was very clean and fresh with a view looking onto Millport. The entertainment was great with a band playing a wide selection of music. Breakfast was first class and the staff were very friendly - be back soon

This was a completely unplanned 'emergency' stay at a place i had never even seen online, let alone booked before I set out! My daughter was rushed to the divers decompression chamber on Millport with 'the bends' after diving, and I drove over 400 miles to reach the island to be with her. The hotel could not have been more... More

I went here with my mum and daughter for 2 days the weekend before christmas, they had a special offer on '2 nights for 1' and we had a great time. I stayed in the Balmoral room which had a lovely big balcony with seaviews, although the weather was quite bad when we were there, it was good to be... More

We have booked the George Hotel for our friends and family on a number of occassions as we have a flat across the road and often don't have enough room. I cannot praise it highly enough so much so that we had our marriage celebration there earlier this year (where we booked out the whole hotel) and family bithdays most... More

We waited around half an hour for the "manager" to find our room key, which she couldn't find. Eventually we were given a spare key, but to someone else's soiled room... No-one was in it at the time, just as well! After awhile they managed to find us a room, after telling us they "might" have double booked. Gawd awful... More

Thank you for your review. I do remember your stay as we do not often have a mix up with keys, however I am positve that you did not have to wait half an hour for a key. As was explained to you the problem arose because we had two guests with the same name both book standard rooms for... More

I called this hotel to enquire on a room for my partner and I at the beginning of September. The first girl to answer the phone confirmed that they had rooms available so passed me to the manageress to book. I spoke to the Manageress who was very abrupt and quite rude. She told me that there were no rooms... More

Thank you very much for your review of your telephone call. I have spent some time trying to recall anyone wanting to book for the day after the Country & Western Festival and the only person that I can think of with whom I had a conversation any where near as you have described was a lady who said that... Just back from another great weekend at The Royal George Hotel, Millport. Our party of five stayed in the beautiful "Craw's Nest" suite, with views from the balcony that are breathtaking. Both bedrooms, bathroom and living areas were spotless as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast on both mornings were delicious. A full, traditional Scottish breakfast with tea and... More

Pros: 1. The suites are fantastic: spacious, modern and boutiquey. Our's also had a great view over the square and sea. Hard to believe that the rest of the hotel is so tatty [see below]. 2. Good location in the heart of the town. 3. The owner, Margaret. She took prompt, concerned and efficient action when we asked for a... More

Our group consisted of myself, my daughter 23, my cousin 50, my Mum 68, two aunts 54 & 64. We booked two suites for one night. The staff in the hotel could not have been more helpful. Accomodation was lovely although we had a problem using one of the power showers. The suites were clean and comfortable and fulfilled all... More
