Hotel's Favourite
Just returned from a lovely week at Son Bou. The hotel is wonderfully clean ( ok the rooms a little dated) but have everything you could need including a hair dryer, fridge, shampoo, soap etc and it’s worth mentioning that the showers were nice and hot with good water pressure, which is something some places can lack! The staff are just exceptional! So friendly, and very helpful and made such an effort with our kids too. The area is amazing.. beautifully long beach ( you can walk for miles!) and a few miles of useful boardwalk just behind the dunes, perfect for evening strolls with our toddler. We’re not the sort of people who like to stay put in one place, we’re explorers…To our surprise, there was some wonderful forest walks with hidden caves and ruins to found nearby. There’s an easy bus service to Mao/Mahon every day to visit the wonderful Port. Definitely worth a visit to break up the beach days. There’s not much to fault at all, our only quibble was the evening food could be a little hit and miss. Lots of fish ( if you’re a fan, although I’m not!) but always something to be found, but some odd combinations. The breakfasts were always fabulous and always plenty of food at the snack bar too, so definitely did not go hungry! We would definitely go back 🙂

I stayed at the hotel for a week with my parents. I paid extra for a double room single occupancy which I am pleased about as I ended up next door to my parents and a nice view of the sea and pool. The rooms were nice with a fridge, fan and plenty of wardrobe space. It would have been nice to have a kettle for an afternoon cuppa but I got one in the bar for a couple of Euros. The staff were lovely and friendly, the hotel was spotless and the pool and pool area was lovely with lots of sun loungers. The restaurant is abit loud and chaotic and the evening food was a little bit hit and miss but quite a lot of choice with salad bar. Pasta Pizza and some lovely cakes available. The location of the hotel is great, right on the beach with a supermarket opposite and some nice bars and restaurants near by. I would stay here again.

The hotel is okay rooms are a bit small but are nice and clean they were cleaned on a daily basis but there was no tea making facilities in the room. The food wasn't great breakfast was okay but the evening food wasn't the best, we did have an issue with food not being cooked properly especially the burgers they were still cold and red in the middle. The pools are lovely but as I was travelling with children I think the rule of no floaties in the pool let's it's down we weren't even allowed a rubber ring in the pool. It was very quiet but I think that was due to the time of year we went, there was no childrens entertainment at night and the entertainment they did have on was only on for 30-45 minutes. The lifts are also shocking if your on a high floor unfortunately we were on the 9th floor and we had to wait ages for lifts even though there was 6 lifts. Can't say I would go back here with children don't think it's a very good hotel for children which is a shame.

Currently coming to the end of my stay, what a great stay it was, I wasn't expecting much, I just wanted a cheap short break away in the sun, I was pleasantly surprise. Firstly as a female solo traveller, I was a little nervous, but the friendly reception made me feel welcome and safe I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a Sea view which was a lovely touch as I was celebrating my Birthday. Beaches are beautiful, shallow waters ideal for little ones, a lovely beach restaurant that I used daily for lunch, reasonable prices (Pizza and a drink 13 euros) All the staff were so friendly and hard working, nothing was to much, considering the hotel closes soon for the season, they remained upbeat. Should you want to venture out there are shops,a supermarket and restaurants all within walking distance. I booked an Island excursion which was a great way to explore Menorca stress free .You can book ticket's at the same place as you exchange money, which is by the supermarket opposite hotel entrance, (follow signs, slightly down some steps) it cost £32 we were picked up at 8.45am back 6ish. The your guide was called Rafael, he owns and runs the business, as he has done for over 50 years! he is so passionate. You could join group lunch for 17 euros for a set menu, I did my own thing found a lovely cafe Back to the hotel, there is evening entertainment, a small kids park, I think 3 pools, lots of areas to chill, the main clientele at the time of my stay were Spanish, as Oct seems to be a popular time for locals to go on vacation, I quite like that, felt like you were actually in Spain The only thing I think that could do with improvement is the food, breakfast was fine, normal sausages, bacon, waffles, pastries etc, unfortunately dinner let it down a little as more of a canteen feel, quite bland, lots of beige. I did HB as it was a minimal extra cost, however I'd probably stick to BB in future, it may have just been me due to being vegetarian, however I did hear other guests grumble. As I mentioned there is the beach restaurant, and restaurants within the vicinity so plenty of other choices. All in all I would definitely stay here again, you couldn't fault the staff, the beach, the atmosphere, the pool, given all the positives I can oversee the canteen 😁 Ps Airport was about 30mins away, I booked transfers with Shuttle direct online, as you come out of departures turn left, the desk advise ETA, on return you just scan your QR code, (also shows return time on confirmation they had you on arrival)

Had a week here with family nice hotel, rooms are basic but serviceable as a disabled person i would only say lifts are small, i had to wait quite often for a lift that i could get into with my disability aid. Pool area very clean with plenty of sun beds and lifeguards always asking if i need assistance which was very nice, easy access to the very nice sandy beach too. Plenty of food choices and always edible, all in all a nice place to stay

Rooms were small but functional No kettle in the room, waste bin rusty Food repetitive and was Luke warm or cold Restaurant should be called works canteen and was very noisy due to the openness Entertainment room very noisy inside due to openness Could not understand what was being said or sung as the microphones were muffled and being drowned out by the backing music too loud (needs a sound engineer to correct it, due to the acoustics) You can’t see what is going on when the artists are performing on the floor in front of the stage due to floor is lower than the rest of the room. Floor in snack bar area is dangerous due to something making the tiles rise over about 5 meter length, got worse as time went on. All staff very helpful and friendly. Outside entertainment sound was OK. Performers were all brilliant. All inclusive cost was not worth the extra paid, better to find a different hotel and eat out.

A great find for me personally. The hotel public areas where spotless, my room was spacious and clean albeit a little tired in places. Free safe, pool towel and a good supply of toiletries. Air conditioning actual worked and the fridge was cool 😁. I cannot stress how clean the pool was along with the pool areas with great sun beds all in very good condition and in abundance, no fighting for a sun bed here! The food was all self service and of a good standard with plenty of choice, all put out in small amounts and replenished regularly. I went to yoga/stretch/pilates and aqua aerobics each day and tried pool 🚴‍♀️ which was fun 🤩. Special mention to Mar from the animation team who was really experienced in exercise classes and made it more enjoyable as she adapted exercises for me, Maria also did this on one class she took too 😊. All staff were professional, helpful and polite.Set on the most wonderful beach which you can walk for miles with lagoons along the way for snorkelling. The further you walk the less crowded it gets, 🤩. Boardwalks back the dunes with direct access from the hotel. All in all a wonderful quiet and relaxing holiday,so much so I am booked to return next June and September 😊
