The hotel looks a lot better than it feels. Maybe it's because the staff had a way of making me feel like I was an intrusion. In general the purpose of the staff seemed to be to please itself.
The room was neither clean nor comfortable, but just marginally. The sheets, for example, didn't fit the bed -- there were two bottom sheets overlapping and two top sheets overlapping but they overlapped in different places. And they didn't fit under the mattress either. So each time i woke up I had to fix the bed.
For another example, the room had no heat so the first night I had to sleep in my clothes -- all of my clothes. The first night, also, pipes just behind the room roared and screamed from about 4-6 am.
In the morning I had to explain that I needed sheets that fit the bed and that I needed some heat in the room. Later in the day, while I was writing notes about the hotel, a young man brought the space heater and new sheets. He was sullen and unfriendly but...
