This resort is right on the beach, the room is spacious, bathroom w/ nice amenities, small kitchenette area. Best aspect is the beach view. The hotel is short walk from the pancake rocks and blow holes. Only down side is lack of places to eat, only at the hotel but luckily food was wonderful!

We have just had 2 nights at this resort on a road trip around the South Island. It was a wonderful place to stay being right on the beach. We had one of the rooms that were right on the beach and at this time of the year we did not have problems with sandflies. The room was very comfortable... More

The hotel is in a lovely location literally right next to the beach and Pancake Rocks. The rooms were neat and tidy and comfortable. Restaurant was also a good standard. Sand flies are a problem. But make sure you get a room on the beach side and not across the road. All in all, we would come back here again.

Only a very short way from the famous pancake rocks this motel has something a bit special. The rooms are very well appointed, spacious and attractively decorated but the full sea view is wonderful. No where to buy provisions so stock up first if you want to breakfast in your room. Only the 'tavern in the town' to eat if... More

We only stayed one night at this lovely resort but thoroughly enjoyed our short time there. We had a room looking straight at the surf and next to the bar/restaurant. The room was very modern, well appointed and comfortable. We enjoyed a walk along the beach before having drinks in front of the fire where I got to skype my... More

We were pleasantly surprised as some reviews left us a little concerned. Our studio room looked out to the beach, so we could watch the wild waves, son loved the beach even though the weather wasn't warm it was still breath taking, exploring the rocks the crashing waves. Dinner at the restaurant was a little pricey, service slower than we... More

Rooms almost on the beach. Restaurant over looks spectacular beach. Winding maze of pathways and steps up from the beach, paths can be slippery. We had two a joining rooms with interconnecting doors ideal for teenagers. Comfortable beds clean and tidy. Good breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant. Our third trip to this place as it meets our needs... More

We had tremendous expectations coming into Punakaiki, considering it was a long way off from our previous stay at the Fox Glacier. Though the hotel location and the property was ok, but then there wasn't anything else one could do at all.The Pancake rocks wont take more than an hour at the max of your time and then you realize that... I suggest you take a look at the pancake rocks and blowholes and then drive on to the next city. Because this so to say ´eco resort´ is not worth your money. Yes, it´s clean and comfortable, but you know when people only do their business to ripp you off. For $200 you at least expect free wifi and complimentary... More

Arrived to the hotel a day early as our travel plans had been disrupted due to bad weather. We found the rooms to be very basic and the service to be quite poor. We ended up transferring to the sister hotel in Greymouth for our second night. This hotel was very disappointing on reflection as we had seen a very... More
