Built in the early 17th century at the heart of the Champagne countryside, this listed historic château sits imposingly in the middle of a 50-acre park with a large terrace, a kitchen garden and magnificent fountains. With its vast reception rooms decorated with painted panelling and 17th and 18th century furniture, this splendid hotel possesses a rare charm. Some lovely bedrooms have delightfully romantic views over the moat that surrounds the building.

Very relaxed chateau hotel, stunning with a moat and large gardens. We stayed in the Coach House which was very comfortable and with a lift. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and we had a delicious glass of champagne in the drawing room in front of a log fire. We ate at the Bistrot, a 5 minute walk which is functional and very busy but not very French. We skipped breakfast as it is rather expensive.

We had booked this hotel for one night but ended up spending 2 as our classic car broke down on the 2nd day. We were therefore in 2 separate rooms in the main chateau. We have stayed several times before at this hotel before Covid. This is a very comfortable hotel with spacious bedrooms. The previous times we stayed in the new part of the hotel which had air conditioning whereas the rooms in the main chateau do not. Although it was very warm weather the lack of air conditioning did not affect us and the style and size of the rooms made up for this. The only disappointment was that the main hotel restaurant is now closed on a Monday and Tuesday evening (When we were there). However, since our last stay a brasseries just outside the hotel but belonging to the property, has opened is fine but not a patch on the main restaurant. Overall a very nice property. Not super luxury but very good 4 star.

We had a room in the Orangery which was air conditioned (very necessary given the temperature) - not sure the rooms in the main house have A/C. Room was comfortable, lighting in the bathroom needed improving. Really lovely setting - the chateau traces its origins back several centuries and was once a proper castle so it has a moat. The grounds are quite large so places to walk and sit.

This was our second visit to Château Étoges and it was just as excellent as the first time in 2019. We stayed in the château itself and the welcome from the staff was friendly and they couldn’t do enough for you. The grounds are beautiful and you can walk round the gardens and there are tables, chairs and sun beds dotted around the grounds for relaxation. I recommend you book a table for dinner at the orangery restaurant which presents excellent French cuisine and wine. The decor and ambiance is subtle and understated but special. The gastronomic menu paired with the wine flight is worth the money and the sommelier and the staff will ensure you have a great experience. The rooms are all individually designed and the furniture is a mixture of period and antique. The bathrooms are contemporary and sympathetically designed. There are paintings, statues and antiques all around the château. It’s amazing. As you are in the heart of the champagne region, there are various local champagne houses to visit in the area and the countryside views are stunning.

Stunning chateau with beautiful rooms, amazing location, wonderful food and wines, and exemplary service. We were welcomed warmly and shown to our room, with a modern bathroom and oozing with charm. Amazing views over the moat into the beautiful grounds. We enjoyed a bottle of champagne on the terrace, from Borel Lucas champagne house which is next door to the Chateau. The wine list is extensive, and then we enjoyed a wonderful meal as part of the gourmet package. Very highly recommended!

This was our third visit; we stayed here twice in our recent French road trip, lured back after an exceptional two day break last summer. The château is stunning, staff are pleasant and welcoming. Our rooms were thoughtfully furnished, cool and comfortable. On our visit last year and our first this summer, the weather was good enough to enjoy a glass of champagne whilst overlooking the moat. Last weekend was very autumnal so we ventured into the very comfortable salon where there are books to borrow, games to play and plenty of plush seating in which to relax. It made us plan a potential winter trip, imagining drinks in front of the fire. We enjoyed the two night gastronomie break and very much enjoyed all our meals. My only slight criticism here is that the menus only change seasonally; were we staying for more than two nights, the choice would be very limited. We had the same menu on both visits this summer despite them being almost three weeks apart. Next time , if we stay again on our way south and again north, we would have one meal in the bistro at the end of the drive, just for the sake of variety. Staff at the restaurant are universally excellent and took the time to indulge us speaking our rather rusty French. I would completely recommend asking the sommelier for the flight of wines to match each course - it is always superb. Breakfast is a leisurely affair with everything you could need and great coffee. Again, staff are warm and welcoming - with a special mention to the lovely lady in breakfast who is always so friendly. Writing this, I just wish that I was back there now!

Dear Jepete from UK, Thank you for this 3rd stay with us and for your loyalty. We are very happy to read that you loved the Chateau d'Etoges, our rooms, the food in the gourmet restaurant, the service, the breakfast... Thank you for your warm reviews, especially the ones regarding our staff. I will pass your compliments to the whole team. With our 2 different restaurants, you can enjoy "just for the sake of variety" the gourmet L'Orangerie and the brasserie L'Atelier. Decoration, atmosphere, level of service and cuisine are differents, but both offers good food, fresh food and friendly staff. We sincerely hope to welcome you again, even during winter, to enjoy the big lounge with the fireplace!! Sparkling regards, Chateau's team

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, it was so relaxing. The experience was like living in a large country estate, so much space to be enjoyed. It is located only a few kilometers from the town of Epernay, easy to reach within 20 mins or so.

Chateau d'Etoges is a delightful hotel where we have stayed on 3 occasions. The rooms in the chateau are grand and those above the restaurant located in the grounds are practical and comfortable. Service in all areas of the hotel/restaurant is very good. Dinner is very well prepared with an interesting menu. Breakfast in the chateau completes the view that the chateau cares about its guests

I was full of expectations when I booked this, for both gastronomy and accommodation. Those expectations were not really met. The room was on the second floor and on the face of it was quite nice BUT it was a very hot night and the air con machine in the room was just so loud it wasn’t possible to use it and get some sleep, then it was too hot to sleep! The restaurant was nice and the food was good but definitely not good enough overall experience for the amount charged.
