went to Osmotherly for a mooch on a cold Thursday evening. Went into the Golden Lion by chance, what a great choice. Lovely, relaxed, friendly atmosphere, very welcoming. Amazing food, great friendly service, definitely going back.

If you are a vegetarian your choices for Sunday lunch are generally goat's cheese tart, a vegetable parcel or roast vegetable pasta - but this chef produced a beautifully tasty Roquefort Cheesecake with a pear chutney. I am so very grateful to The Golden Lion, for accommodating me when I was travelling through Northallerton on my Lands End to John O' Groats. Osmotherley is a lovely location for visitong the north York moors, easily accessible, and within driving distance of all the sights.
