Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We absolutely loved our New Year's break. We stayed in Dairymans Cottage and it was gorgeous - so clean and cozy. Our 4 year old loved all the animals and couldn't believe how close they were to our Cottage - he loved saying good morning and good night to the cows :) We would love to come back for another stay in warmer weather to do some of the local walks, the scenery surrounding the cottage was beautiful. We also visited the Ice Cream Farm about 20 minutes away which was a brilliant day out - lots for kids to do.

Another amazing stay - it’s now a regular for us with visiting family in North Wales. Accommodation is always superb in all of the cottages. Everything you could wish for. Wonderful to stay on the farm with delightful walks in surrounding area. We will be back again soon!

We have had two separate stays at Millmoor Farm now and we absolutely love it! Everyone is so welcoming and helpful and my children love seeing and interacting with the animals, lots of tears when it’s time to say goodbye! The properties are just fabulous, very well equipped, clean and cosy. We are booking another stay - simply brilliant place.

Very nice cosy cottage. Lovely and warm when we arrived. Nice view of the countryside. We enjoyed our stay and had nice days out in Chester. Having an interest in space I especially liked going to Jodrell Bank Observatory. Enjoyed seeing the animals and had fondness for the pigs.

Who could ask for anything more? Staying in a farmhouse which is historical with beams and antique and modern furniture - tick. Sleeping in a comfortable four poster bed - tick. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and farm animals - tick. Chicken literally outside our front door laying an egg one of the days - tick. Feeding the animals especially the 3 saddleback pigs - tick. Delicious breakfast pack at £24.99 for 2 people including sausage, bacon, butter, jam, orange juice, milk, farmhouse bread and eggs - tick. Wanted so much to give this place a 5 star recommendation. So, I have! Slight negatives were the weather was not great (one day of blue skies) but it was April and this is England. Also, the local pub "The Wheatsheaf" was closed! - Not the owners fault though! Overall sad to go home. Now that we are home we are missing the fantastic views.

Enjoyed a fabulous break here for the bank holiday weekend. There were eight of us staying between the Farmhouse Wing and Carters Lodge. It was so nice to be able to go freely through the farm and have hands on experience with the sheep and lambs, goats. We were made to feel at home by Sally-Anne, Dave & Lloyd who were so friendly and helpful. Accommodation had everything we needed and the home made cakes on arrival were a nice surprise. We were all sad to have to leave and would happily book again. All in all a great experience and would highly recommend.

Stayed in the farmhouse wing over Christmas and had a 5* experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable well laid out, and had all the amenities of a luxury 5 * hotel. The family hosts were very friendly and helpful and were very accommodating towards my own dog who accompanied us on the stay.

Another fabulous stay this time with our grandchildren who adored being with all the animals. Our third time this year and will be back before Christmas. Millers cottage was as lovely as ever and the home baked cakes delicious! Thank you so much once again!

We are nearing the end of our week here at Millmoor Farm, myself and my two daughter aged 9 and 12. We love seeing our animal neighbours out of our windows each morning - calves, sheep and goats. Our cottage - ‘Dairymans’ has absolutely everything you need from washing up and kitchen utensils to towels and hand wash/body wash/lotions. We pre-ordered a breakfast pack (eggs, bacon, sausages, bread, milk, butter, Jam & orange Juice) there were homemade chocolate brownies on our arrival & tea/coffee/sugar which was great after our 5 hour journey. My girls have helped David feed the calves and we have collected eggs from the hens, (just ask Sally-Ann for a basket) we have walked round the surrounding fields and have wondered round to see the pigs and cows in their barns. Also been followed around by their cat. There is a play area for the younger children, ride on tractors and garden furniture for the grown ups to relax outside the cottages with a cup of tea! We have visited Chester zoo (30mins) , Grindley Locks (10mins) Beeston Castle (20mins) Horseshoe Falls at Llangollen (45mins) and are doing the Crocky Trail today which is 20mins away. Plenty to see and do Within a short drive. There is an Aldi and other local supermarkets in Chester and plenty of recommendations for places to eat. We have yet to eat out as have cooked our meals at the cottage. All in all I highly recommend it! Thankyou Millmoor Farm

Just back from a fantastic 3 night bank holiday weekend break. We stayed in Dairyman's cottage which was spacious, comfortable and had all the appliances and things we needed to make our stay super pleasant. Sally-Ann and Dave are incredible hosts, and were really great with our 2 and a half year old around the farm, letting him help feed the pigs, goats, lambs, calves and chicken and collect the chickens eggs. He had the best time on the farm, both helping out and also playing on the swings and slides and with the toy tractors (and playing with all the locks and bolts on the barn doors!). We were met on arrival by Tommy the ginger cat, who showed us around the cottage, a pleasure! (we arrived very late and had arranged that the key would be left for us). Sally-Ann had left some delicious treats for us, including THE FLUFFIEST lemon drizzle I have ever tried. We ordered the breakfast pack- 100% would recommend- all locally sourced (the eggs and sausages from animals on the farm), the farmhouse loaf was delicious too! Our favourite bit was Skye had 5 week old puppies which were so cute and fluffy! We all slept really well, the beds were really comfortable and it was so dark and quiet that our human 5am alarm clock even slept in til gone 630 every day! The cottage was really well insulated too, which meant, although as soon as we opened the windows in the morning we could hear the delightful noises of lambs, kids and calves baaing, bleating and mooing, it was super quiet indoors. My 2 labradors enjoyed their stay too and were mega chilled in the lovely environment. We can't wait to go back!
