Stayed here for just the one night, having been to a wedding locally. Price paid was perhaps I suppose about right considering not many hotels in this local area, most well know local hotel came in at twice the rate.So happy to pay as it was just b&b and one night. Anyway I can say that it met with my expections. Certainly... More

I have to say our experiance was great, from check in which is 2.30 although we got there at midday, the young man on reception (justin i think) was very helpful and between himself and housekeeping got our room serviced first so that we could get in there early to get changed for a wedding we were going to. We... More

We stayed here for just one night (thank God). We booked a standard double room for £76.50 which we think is a bit steep for a standard but if you want to stay you have to pay. We were checked in by a female member of staff who had glitter make up on and bitten finger nails. We were very... More

While we as a hotel welcome reviews on our hotel both good and bad, can I ask why you feel you are able to pass personal and unpleasant comments about our staff members when, what you are commenting on has nothing to do with the service they provided. If they had provided you with bad service, I would understand you... More

We found our room at Dodington Lodge to be clean and the bed comfortable, and the traditional English Breakfast delicious. There were other healthier breakfast options available of which western U.S. citizens seek. The geraniums & other flowers were delightfully arranged all around the exterior of the hotel. Our 2nd floor room did not receive Wireless Internet Service, yet I... More

Having recently stayed in 2 well know 4 star hotels and had grim experiences in both I wasn't optimistic about staying in a 3 star hotel! However, I needn't have worried - first impressions were of a friendly and clean establishment and during the whole stay the staff were without exception extremely friendly and professional. The bedroom was also spotlessly... More

Stayed two nights for business. I stayed in Room 1 which was very large, with a king-size double bed. This room looked recently refurbished, (new carpet ) and was clean and well decorated. Kettle with teas and coffee and a hair dryer in the dressing table drawer. All the things you would expect, and always nice to have them, without... More

Having seen the other reviews I was a little bit concerned, however I was advised by friends that they had had a diffrent experince, so i checked out the reviews on the hotels booking site,( which is supplied by another company and not the Hotel). There are a lot more reviews there and they are a lot more positive. Arriving... More

the 'hotel' is supposed to be 3* AA rated - it is not! It was minus 7 and they switched the heating off at night and we were told to use a fan heater, which was noisy and a distinct fire hazard as it got so hot. The shower was a dribble of tepid water and the bathroom didn't even... More

Dear Guest, I’m sorry to read that your stay here at the Hotel did not live up to your expectations, or indeed ours. In response to your “review” I would like to make the following observations: You found so much at fault with our Hotel and your Bedroom that you went to the trouble to set up a Trip advisor... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Dodington Lodge is a friendly family run small hotel located on the outskirts of the market town of Whitchurch. The Hotel was originally built as a private residence and such is not a purpose built hotel. We have 10 very different shaped rooms; some are small like our compact double room 6, while others are extremely large like our deluxe room 1. Given the age of the building and its listed status many of the walls and ceilings and in some rooms the floors are a little uneven. All rooms are en-suite and include Refreshment facilities and Free view TV as standard, with free Wi-Fi available in the Public Areas and most bedrooms. The hotel is ideally placed for exploring the Shropshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire countryside. Manchester Airport is our nearest at 1 Hour away. The Roman towns of Chester and Shrewsbury (Wroxoter) are only a day’s march away (or about 30 minutes drive). If you like walking The Sandstone Trail begins (or ends) in the Whitchurch Jubilee Park, which is located a few minutes’ walk away from the hotel. ... more   less
