We just stayed at the Melia Jardines del Teide Hotel and had such an incredible time. We originally booked The Level Junior Suite with Ocean Views and were fortunate enough to be upgraded to the Sun Terrace room. We booked the all inclusive package which was well worth the price. When we arrived we were greeted by Sam, who kindly helped us with our luggage and brought us to the Level Reception, after which Raul checked us in and explained everything to us. It was very daunting at first with the hotel being so large, but he explained the layout well and we quickly found our bearings. After arriving we first tried the Mosaic restaurant, which is the all-inclusive Buffet option (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner). We were greeted by the most incredible hostess Laura, who is an absolute asset to the hotel. She made us feel so incredibly welcome and we developed a great relationship with her over a short 5 day stay. Everyone working at Mosaic were so friendly, efficient and very welcoming. The food offerings were good and many changed on a daily basis, but some staples were always available. The slow cooked meat and cold selection was excellent, as was the dessert bar and Ice Cream! We also tried the breakfast in the Level Lounge which was really good. It’s an A la carte sitting, with a smaller buffet option. This made a great difference and had a variety of options that the buffet did not offer. Breakfast in the Lounge did feel fresher and more relaxing during busier periods, especially dining next to the small Waterfall in the Sun. The Level lounge had a great atmosphere and we loved the fact they had a happy hour daily, that included premium spirits. Snacks and other Soft and Alcoholic drinks are offered daily outside these hours, including wines and the all important bubbly. The Level Pool area was great, Ramon was so friendly and really gets to know the guests staying there. Nothing was too much trouble and he always served with a smile and humour. We also tried Pico Negro, and the food at the restaurant was incredibly good! With our all inclusive package we secured 50% off the final bill, which was already great value. This was so worth it and would highly recommend it. The fresh fish was very tasty, and the Tomahawk steak served table side was cooked exactly to your liking on a hot plate. The restaurant should be advertised more as it’s an interesting fusion of Japanese food. We were also offered a free dinner at Casa Nostra (the Level lounge turns into Casa Nostra at night). This meal was also delicious, the linguine pesto and prawns were the highlight of that meal, but the fruit pastry for dessert was equally good. Our hostess Angelica was equally wonderful, we saw her for each Breakfast and the Evening meal and she met us with a smile and an incredibly friendly welcome each time. We always felt so welcomed and once again, nothing was any hassle. We also spent time relaxing in the bar, Retama. The Bar staff, like all other areas of the hotel, were attentive and polite. Their coffee was also much better than the machine coffee over breakfast and a great pick me up. The bar overlooks the Pool, Ocean and surrounding town which was such a lovely view to relax. The bar also hosted a really fun Glass workshop, where we painted Glass to make a necklace (with a second available to buy). This was a really fun way to spend some time, especially indoors after a little Sunburn… We also loved the Soap Making class for the same reason, taking away plenty of samples and information. The only criticism we had was related to housekeeping and room re-stocking. Our minibar and water was not replenished on the first day and towels were sometimes not replaced. We did follow up with The Level reception who worked to get replacement water for the room, but after they did, the request wasn’t followed through until the next day despite Reception taking care of it straight away. It was a little disappointing but very nit picky. The general room clean could also be improved a little, especially using the turndown service which was somewhat unknown about. Taking towels away and replacing amenities should be easy (some of this however could well have been our Language barrier!). Besides from this, adding some Fresher options to the Buffet (fresh waffles at breakfast rather then large quantities of pre-cooked or a fresh hot station) would be amazing, as would a BBQ or special dining experience. The Tower, 7th Floor accessible via the main reception, really offered incredible views over Tenerife Day and Night, and would be an amazing private dining experience we’d be thrilled to take part in. We were exceptionally happy however with the stay and the room was comfortable and a great size. We keep writing this but all of the Staff at the hotel really are an asset, we truly have never felt as warmly welcomed. The views and the cleanliness of the grounds and facilities (the Gym was also excellent and really well equipped for a Hotel) were fabulous. We are looking forward to making a yearly trip to the hotel because of all of this. A huge shoutout to the following staff who have made our stay truly exceptional: Angelica, Sam, Laura, Ramon, Raul, Isel Mondejar, Daniel, Sheila, Ana Paula, Helena and Paula. We met so many fantastic people that we didn’t get all of their names, but we can’t wait to be back to meet them again. They are all amazing and we cannot wait to be back again!…
