Arrived at the lodge in the afternoon as a part of or rather the night stop for the Luang Say Cruise. When approaching from the river you already gets a taste of what to expect as you see the charming wooden buildings blending nicely in to the surroundings, and don't get disappointed on arrival. After a steep walk from the... More

Over looking the Mekong river, the lodge alludes an air of calm and tranquility. Do as they ask and only take a small bag from the boat - it's really not fair on the staff to lug your suitcase unnecessarily as there are a number of steps from the river. The rooms are spacious with mosquito nets over the beds... More

Stayed as part of the Luang Say river trip to Luang Prabang. Make sure you pack a small overnight bag as there's quite a trek up the steps in low water conditions. Your main bags can stay safely locked on the boat overnight. Also show a bit of patience when checking in - you have a room booked an all... More

It was so pretty with the little teak rooms and the walkways in between, the fabulous views over the Mekong, the shutters, the dining room, the bar, the grounds...I could go on and on. Also lovely food and excellent service. Ok, you sleep under a mosquito net but there is air conditioning and a good shower. There was a terrific... More

Most people stay here as a part of the Luang Say Cruise between Luang Prabang and Huay Xai. The lodges are high up the hill overlooking the Mekong. The cabins, the terraces are all made of hardwood. Very beautifully done. The cabins are very spacious, nicely decorated. Fantastic view of the Mekong and the mountains from your cabin. There is... More

Great location. independent cabin style rooms. Good food and service. Rooms NOT air conditioned and louvres on windows so mosquito nets, repellant and tablets essential. The Thai dancing show by the local village children was amateur and THAT was its charm. We were tourists, but the show as not touristy and the under 8 kids were a delight because they... More

The lodge sits above the Mekong and many (but not all) bungalows have a wonderful view down over the river. The bungalows themselves are beautifully constructed out of hardwood, with very clean shower and toilet en-suites too. Food was lovely, faultless really. Stayed as part of the Luang Say cruise which, although pricey fir this part of the world, was... More

After a day cruising the Mekong, Luang Say Lodge was a delight to stay in, the bungalows are lovely, food fantastic, ( creme caramel for breakfast!) staff great. They provided an evening show of local children dancing, to traditional music, enchanting! Mosquito net used, no sign of a mosquito though, even as no screens on windows. Staff turn down bed,... We stayed here on New Years Eve with our two children ages 9 and 11 and the rest of the guests on our LUang Say Riverboat cruise. What an amazing place!! It's beautiful! the location is incredible. You feel like you are the only people on the Mekong River. We were able to send up lanterns on New Years Eve... More

We took the Luang Say river cruise down the Mekong from Chiang Khong/Houei Sai to Luang Prabang. This is a stunning trip. The overnight stay was at the Luang Say Lodge. A beautifully built lodge almost hidden in the 'forest' close to the river. 17 very attractive 'bungalows' on stilts connected by walkways to the main reception areas. There was... More
