We saw the photo of the hotel on the internet, booked at the last minute, but only deluxe room with balcony available. We got lucky becuase it was a beautiful view right on the water front of the Brienzersee and the mountains all around. Some may dislike the ferry stop right in front but we had a small baby and he (and we) enjoyed that too. Rooms were fresh and clean, bathroom v nice too, large bed, also got baby cot on request no extra, a sofa bed + armchairs + fruits. Well stocked minibar but no coffee maker. A cosy family run hotel, cold (except boiled egg) but good bfast (part of cost) , other meals simple, tasty, expensive. Iseltwald itself was a revelation - a pretty, quiet, not very touristy village - just what we wanted. A great 4 days stay. Hope to do it again someday, maybe in winter. Will need a car if not very mobile as steep drop from main road to village. Else can use public bus from village square. more
