Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel was perched on the edge of a cliff, good sea views. Shuttle bus to the nearest town runs too infrequently, and even in September we had to wait, as it was full. Remote location, lots of steps, and accommodation tired. 4 star rating questionable.

We had the best holiday as a family here, i was worried my daughter wouldn’t enjoy as being away with her parents at 18, but she was so happy with the whole experience. The food was amazing and never got bored of it, the pizza at pool snack bar was great, staff were so friendly and attentive. Both pools were lovely with exceptional views. A free bus to Skala which we used a couple of times but we hired a car to explore the area. Did 10 days and wished it was longer. Would love to return

My partner and I have just spent a week at the Apostolata and very much enjoyed it. It was very late season (first week of October), but still very warm and sunny. The transfer from the airport was between 1h 15 and 1h30, by the time we’d done a few pick ups on the way. We were very happy with the room – we paid a bit more for a sea view. The room has a small fridge, kettle, hair dryer and the toiletries were replenished in the bathroom. The two pools were great. We spent most of our time at the large one at the bottom. There were few people, plenty of sun loungers and there was no music before 1640. The one by reception is very much smaller, with only a couple of sun loungers. The wifi is excellent – both in our room (in the main block) and by the pool The food was really good – perfectly hot and with a lot of choice. There were different salads and main course options every night, as well as the staples (fresh pizza, & pasta). There was also a variety of fresh bread and about ten puddings to choose from. The place was clean and the staff were very friendly. The tennis courts are astroturf and play very nicely. We had them to ourselves each evening. The gym is small and while the spa opens at 1000, the reception staff open the gym at any time. There is one treadmill and cross trainer. The other treadmill and bike don’t work. There is: • A multi gym with a lat pull down/ low row • A combined bench press (flat & incline) and shoulder press • And a leg extension/curl • The dumbbells are 20/18/16/10/8/5/3 kg • There’s also a flat/incline bench and one for back extensions There’s a free bus into the little town - Skala (c5 mins drive away) about 4/5 times a day. There are quite a few cats about the place; most well fed and very friendly. If you’re that way inclined, they never turn down food (available cheaply from the Skala food shops) but what a few could do with is a drop of anti flea lotion &/ or worming tablets, which we couldn’t find in the shops. We’d definitely go back

This hotel is definitely not a 4/5* hotel, 3* at most. The food in the Sea Pearl restaurant was either dried up, burnt or floating in grease. Breakfast didn't have a great selection, no fresh orange juice just watery orange from machine. Hot water and coffee were served to you when you sat down and I think it would have been better self service. I don't think we had a hot meal in the week we were there apart from when we went to the restaurant upstairs, which was lovely but you could only go once if you stayed all inclusive and it was only open a few nights, probably because it was nearing the end of the season . The staff there were very good, tended to all your needs. On the good side the hotel was in a beautiful location on the hillside with fantastic sea views. Downside was the amount of crooked steps down to the large pool where there were plenty of sunbeds. Whilst we were there a lady fell down the steps and broke her ankle so something definitely needs sorting out with them. There was also a small pool with 9 sunbeds and tables and chairs behind the bar on the reception level which we used a few days, which was lovely and peaceful. Entertainment in the hotel was extremely poor out of 7 days there was a saxophonist on twice, greek night twice and a DJ who played all greek music once. The room we had was very basic and the bed was very comfortable, towels changed every day. Shuttle bus to Skala and Poros were good and we got the local bus to Argostoli from the bus stop outside the hotel one day. Shame about the food and entertainment because the location was lovely.

I don’t know why there are so many negative reviews of this place. We’ve just flown back and the place is incredible! We loved it so much we’ve booked for next year already! Great staff, food and the views are SPECTACULAR. Service is brilliant particularly at the a la carte restaurant and the pool restaurant. Special shout out to Ava and Roubini who were first class. Rooms are large, clean, perfect mattresses on super king beds and spot on air conditioning. I’ve never slept so well! Try and book a sea view balcony. You will not regret it. Everything was clean and not a hint of cockroaches which is what I’ve seen in some of these reviews. A few mosquitoes but they never put us brits off do they? Big tip if you like a drink - go all inclusive. Another thing you won’t regret!

Absolutely stunning hotel and grounds, fabulous pool areas. It is a little bit hilly getting to and from the pool but there is a lift to assist, food is amazing and to a high standard. Staff are so friendly and courteous. Extremely well presented rooms and cleaned to a high standard. I would love to come back to this hotel in the future.

Lovely hotel with fantastic views. Staff are very helpful and friendly The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels each day, and all the bedding changed 3 times in the 10 days we stayed It was lovely sitting on the balcony at sunrise with a coffee. Coffee tea and milk provided if you run out of supplies just ask at reception For those with mobility issues, people could ring reception, and they would send a buggy to collect them. Two beautiful pools and worth the walk down to the area near the sea with sunbeds beautiful We were half board and on 2 occasions had lunch at the hotel and ate dinner at one of the restaurants in Skala Only down side was the entertainment with the hotel being out of the centre. I felt it required better and varied entertainment in the evening

Great facilities with fabulous staff. Highly recommended hotel. Rooms clean and very functional. We mentioned to reception after the first night that the mattress was uncomfortable. They sorted by organising a mattress topper which made the bed extremely comfortable. Evening life entertainment very professional.

Lovely hotel, rooms, staff and good food The good Great views, rooms, pool, staff, food. The pool area bar was great with friendly funny staff which was fab. The pizza and Greek salads were great around the pool. Always plenty of sun loungers around the pool and at the sea. The buffet food was good and we always found something good to eat.!The service and food in the Al a Carte was great. The spa treatments were fab soo very relaxing. The Greek musicians were great and varied. The bad The entertainment. There is 1 DJ a week playing his music without any notice of his audience. There is a saxophonist twice a week who was great the first time but we didn’t want to hear him 4 times over the two weeks. The ugly Nothing comes to mind.

We actually booked this for September 2021 but i was ill and had to rearrange twice and we eventually went at the beginning of September. We had a room which was very basic and dated, it definitely needs modernising. There was also a shower a shower opposite the toilet which i found abit odd. The room was big and spacious and the air conditioning worked well. The tea and coffee facilities was never replaced which was a shame so once you've used it all up , that's it. We did have a lovely sea view and a balcony but never sat out as the sun never reached the balcony at the end of the day. Housekeeping came in once a day and whilst we had fresh towels and the bed was made i don't think the room was really cleaned. The location is just outside of the main town area so you either need a car, which we had hired one, or you can use the shuttle bus for free during the day. Otherwise taxis were 8 euros each way. it is not really in walking of distance of the town because of the steep hill. The pool was lovely and huge, plenty of sunbeds but there were 107 steps down to them. The pool was salt water and so was very cold to get into, but once in it was fine. The bar man was always happy. We were only bed and breakfast at this hotel and the breakfast was not the best. In fact we even missed it twice as there wasn't alot of choice and it was the same thing each day. Even if the guy serving fried eggs etc made omelettes that would be a nice change. i just had egg and chips each morning with a few bits of cake, nothing too exciting. the views were lovely and the staff were very friendly and hardworking. on our last day we had a late flight so we had a pool day and they let us use a room for half an hour just to freshen up in. It is definitely not a 5 star hotel though. i've heard that it has been taken over and the name will change so maybe the new owners will update the hotel.
