I visited the island 6 years ago and spent most of my time in a hut-shaped accommodation next to one of the mosque’s speakers. We couldn’t extend for our last night, so I managed to convince my party to spend a bit more and stay in an actual room for our last night, which happened to be 7Seas. Maybe it was the difference between the two places, but I remember it fondly. And no wailing at 4am (this much is still true)! Upon arriving this time, we figured we’d spend the first night there, because we knew what to expect, but we didn’t exactly expect the entire seafront to have been washed into the sea (the 2018 quake clearly didn’t make the news in our house) and the area to be almost abandoned. It turns out that we arrived on a stormy day and it wasn’t actually too bad on the sunnier days - the beach and a more lively strip is just 3 minutes away, but by then we had decided to move - mostly because the price point just wasn’t worth it (though has considerably dropped since 6 years ago). We stayed in the house rather than the cottages. Despite being what seemed like the only guests (I changed room 3 times), we didn’t get given the higher ROOMS, which may have been better. The lower level ones whilst objectively nice - furniture seems fresh and deliberate, a lot of sustainable processes are in place etc - it just felt dark and damp and a little rough around the edges (literally - the walls, ceilings) and not in a deliberate kind of way. I don’t mind the local wildlife, but I do mind it making its way to my room at night, which did happen. One of our rooms was fine, but the three rooms I tested out all had a faulty A/C - as in that 2/3 worked, but definitely not as strongly as they should’ve and the third was was just blowing out cold air endlessly, rather than adjusting to the set temperature. Bed was fine - I’ve had worse, but it a bit too hard for my liking still. The PROPERTY itself is nice enough. Right on the seafront, looks open and lovely and more resort vibes than a lot of Gili’s accommodations. It has a restaurant and a large reception. Pool was not working during our visit. STAFF was lovely and I do give bonus points for the cats on the property, who were actually clean and chilling around reception aka treated well by the establishment. It’s a once-upon-a-time lovely property that could do with some TLC inside the rooms as well as the outside (which does appear to be still worked on), but understandably has been affected by the recent years (that part of the island seems to have gotten the worst of it). I imagine the higher level rooms would actually be nice enough, and it’s actually a good location otherwise (close to port as well as a beach), but there’s just many more affordable options available, and we couldn’t justify staying.

3 stars, a star for each of these reasons; location/ proximity to the pier, the bathroom/ wet room, the front ‘garden’. Loved all these 3 parts. It was so nice only having a 5 minute walk to the accommodation from the pier and having toured the island afterwards appreciated not having to drag suitcases across the sand paths even more. Air-con worked well as well. The not so good - Room only cleaned once In 6 days and that was by request. When we arrived they commented on how early we had booked, so it’s a safe assumption we were the earliest guests to have booked at that time. In light of this it would have been nice not to have a room right next to a small building site - I appreciate there’s upkeep and development that has to be done but I didn’t enjoy waking up to somebody drilling through our outside wall in the early morning. Mosquitos - I’m not criticising the mozzies here, if anything we’re in their way not the other way round. However, with no doors staying shut without being locked as the latches didn’t work, having to constantly be locked in/ out of the room or bathroom to stop the door from falling open and inviting the mozzies in became quite frustrating - FIX THE DOORS. Neither safe worked, asked for help, was told they don’t work in any room. They did ask if we wanted to put it in their safe but do I trust a stranger with our passports? Didn’t try the pool, looked drab/ boring. Wi-Fi not great, however it wasn’t anywhere on the island so don’t think this is is fault of the accommodation. We arrived on Gili from Canggu where the staff went above and beyond for you (Villa Kano) so this is maybe an unfair opinion having previously had such amazing service. Consequently I’m maybe holding 7seas to overly high standards but the staff just seemed disinterested other than at the bar area. All the above didn’t impinge on our stay in Gili, absolutely loved the island and what it had to offer but just think some minor changes could’ve completely changed our opinion of 7seas.

accommodation is a disaster, everything is old shabby dirty. there were cockroaches and various vermin in the room. The photos on the booking are old and lie . The minibar is empty and the fridge is rusted, the drink list was spilled with beer and the cells were taped, the safe does not work. NEVER EVER

We did not stay at the villas but walked by looking for dinner. Apparently the restaurant has only been open for 1 month. There was no one dining when we sat down but we liked the look of the menu. Food came perfectly prepared. Beautifully displayed and tasted even better. Best steak sandwich I may have ever had !!! Will eat here again tomorrow.

Really clean rooms with massive wet room and plenty of space to dry cloths. The location was great as well. Air conditioning worked well. I like the pool, was nice and quite with a good view. The only let down was an inconsistent Wi-Fi connection.

7SEAS has a great location (only 5 min. walk from the pier), bike rental for 25K a day and very friendly staff! We got a highly appreciated bottle of infused water as a welcome drink and We stayed in a very spacious room with huge bathroom bathroom. Unfortunately the pool was under construction when we visited, but the staff would arrange for us to be able to swim in the neighbour resort’s pool which I think was a great solution. The entire place could use a coat of paint & the bikes could use some new tires, but overall our stay was good!

I came to this hotel rushing after check out from previous hotel with horrible vibe. I arrived early and they told me that my room was ready while they served me oshibori and fresh welcome drink. The staffs assisted me with so much patience when I asked to upgrade my room and I wanted to take a look at each available bungalow because I didnt want to spend the rest of my staycation feeling unhappy with my room. I finally had my bungalow with a beautiful boho interior, semi outdoor bathroom. I'm a very detail oriented person and I was impressed with the cleanliness and and the heavenly smell coming from every linen and towels provided in the room. The pool is secluded but its ok. The hotel located on the beachside very close to the airport yet private and quiet. A part of the hotel, there's kenza yoga and the cafe which also amazing. I joined the power yoga class and felt so energized after. Love it so much! Thank you 7SEAS team.

We had 3 nights at 7 Seas over the New Year festivities in one of their two bed family rooms. The bungalow was clean and ell presented but the bathroom and downstairs area all a little tired from a long season. The staff were really helpful and attentive with any issues we had and overall we had a lovely stay. 7 Seas is located very close to the port which has some advantages being very central to everything but if you want beach side holiday then pick a place on the west side (sunset coast). & seas have bicycles to rent which is just teh best way to get around the island. Their restaurant - Kenzo - serves the best food on the island. Super healthy and just a fantastic breakfast sat by the sea overlooking Lombok. Recommended for sure.
