When yiou get to this hotel after 11+kms down a dirt track it is worth the effort. The only problem is that you are then more or less stuck unless you want to repeat the exercise and go out for supper. The breakfasts are superb and the choice is overwhelming. Dinner is very nice, although we would have preferred something... more

We just returned from a 3 day stay at the Eco Paraiso. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay overall. I’m hard pressed to say what my favorite part about staying there was. It could be the beach (we were the only guests during our stay- so we had beautiful unspoiled beach laden with shells as far as the eye could see... more

There is a lot of work ongoing at this hotel in preparation for the main holiday period. This seems to be their priority over current guests. The 11km road to the hotel is drivable as long as you go slowly or have a 4 wheel drive. All the rooms are being re-furbished, and the one we stayed in was very... more

There seemed to be no one in charge here. The food was horrible....bland, tasteless, and usually served cold. The food was often cold because the two waiters seemed unable to handle two tables. Rather than observing the guests to respond as needed, one hung out behind the bar and the other spent his time looking in the window to the... more

We loved this place. Spacious bungalows, friendly and attentive staff who would clean well and come in at night while you were out at dinner to put the mosquito nets over the beds and light the oil lamp, good service in the restaurant/bar and pretty good food. Although there were bugs around we didn't find them especially problematic, we just... more

We arrived expecting a luxury, ecological resort. We found gecko droppings throughout our room, mediocre food, poorly maintained pool and deck, and anoverpriced estuary tour ($450 for our group of 6). They "solved" the problem of the gecko droppings by spraying the palapa roof with "non-toxic" spray which resulted in stunning and killing the geckos -- 14 of them dropped... more

very beautiful detached bungalows. comfortable seats inside and outside. we loved it here very much, but wondered why we couldn't have diner / breakfast outside. well, because of the mosquitos. we were here in january and there were not many of them (they said) but enough to stay inside. the dinner was very good (but if you don't like cheese,... more

We just returned from a four night stay at Eco Paraiso. Although many of the previous reviews on this website (and the hotel's own website) made Eco sound blissful, we most definitely did not find it so . True, the beach was, without a doubt, the most unspoiled beach we have ever been on (we have traveled throughout the Caribbean... more

Eco Paraiso was splendid. Excellent service and who can complain about several miles of beach shared with a few dozen guests. For the Resort component, the meals were fantastic and we would recommend doing the full service including dinner if you are only there for a few days. Each day was a different menu and the chefs would even slightly... more

Xixim is a unique hotel located (roughly) on the opposite corner to Cancún on the Yucatán peninsula. It is a truly beautiful place. My friends, mother and I were amazed at the extent of the beach, which is not as clean from plants etc. as beaches in large resort but is all for you to enjoy. Kayaking in the afternoon,... more
