We spent 2 nights at Hotel Manglares in a cabana ($1600 pesos/night) and was very happy with the accomodations. The cabanas include a large bedroom, a living room, a kitchen, bathroom and an outside patio facing the beach. The sliding glass doors in the bedroom and the living room look out over the water. The views are beautiful. The cabana... more

I spent one night at the Hotel Manglares and was delighted with the views from my third floor corner room. This very spacious room had two balconies, a small one that afforded views over the neighboring property and the beach and gulf beyond, and a larger one that faced the water and, because it was higher than the hotel’s water-front... more

As it was the low season we did not make a reservation. The owner / manager showed us several types of room and when we mentioned that we wanted to look at one other hotel before deciding he said that he would arrange a flamingo tour for us beginning and ending at the hotel for less than $20 US. He... more

A great little sidetrip if you need to get away from the touristy stuff .Nice clean hotel on the beach , walking distance from town . The staff is young and a little ditzy but are friendly and eager to please . Make sure you go see the flamingoes . I am a bit of a Philistine when it comes... more

After fleeing the congestion of Merida, we spent Christmas eve and Chirstmas night at Manglares, a beautiful spot on a shell-ladden beach. Very clean rooms, great shower and a gorgeous view from every room. The pool is completed and breakfast is available, a full restuarant is in the works. A short walk into downtown. It was a comfortable and relaxing... more

We did not make reservations our friend told us not to worry about making them that when we arrive he would help us with making arrangements for a room. We arrive there middle of the week in the afternoon. The girl at the desk is apparently tired and not happy that we don't have reservations and she is not sure... more

When we saw Hotel Manglares and its cabanas, there was no question about staying. Right on this beautiful ocean, watching the fishing boats leave in the morning while having coffee on your private patio. Next year we are planning to stay for a month in one of their special cabanas. One suggetion: DVD player and DVD's and better quality sheets.... more

I can't believe it's taken me a year to write this, but it has to be written, as my family LOVES Hotel Manglares, it's owner, Rodrigo, and Celestun. We often say to each other, "When are we getting back to Celestun?" I have never stayed at a hotel with such incredibly good service. Our daughter was sick the first night... more

Hotel Manglares is a treat. After five days in Merida and driving to see the Mayan Archeological sites (both big and small…some of the small ones are TERRIFIC), we needed a mental and physical break and Celestun and Hotel Manglares was an oasis: clean, efficient, wonderful facilities, good showers, wonderful balconies that overlook the Gulf, housekeeping is lovely, fresh bottles... more

Manglares is a quality Western style hotel. It sits right on the beach, with everything in place to relax there if whether permits. While the beach is not very nice, it has some of the best selection of sea shells anywhere. Certainly the place to stay if you want comfort, but don't want to pay the prices at the ecological... more
