First of all, we have visited Prince Edward Island for 30 years and never have we had such a negative experience with a cottage owner. After finding River Clyde's Cottages on the Island's visitor website, we decided to stay for 3 nights.
From the descriptions and the pictures, we believed we would be on the River Clyde looking over the river and the countryside on the opposite shore. When we arrived to find the river view almost nonexistent and our view was a grove of spruce trees, we thought we had the wrong place. The owner told us that this was indeed the place we had reserved. We told her we felt we had been misled by the pictures and descriptions of their website and wished to move on. Having reserved with a credit card, she informed us we would be charged for one night if we stayed on or not. We did stay the one night and moved on the next day. A complete waste of time when vacation time is short.
