Temple House isn't a hotel, it's something better--it is that rare place that has something to please even the most diverse group of travelers, like ours. My father, my 14-year-old niece, and I, who didn't agree on that much during the rest of our trip, ALL loved Temple House. Roderick and Helena and their children were so welcoming, and the... more

Just returned from a 'Sister's Trip' to Ireland and we voted Temple House as our favorite lodging! As a property with a large, old grey Georgian Manor House, with endless antiques & portraits...all kept within the same family for centuries...I expected a bit of upper-class 'stuffiness'. Here we were...after 2 hrs of horseback-riding, smelling of (you know what!)...disheveled & tired...driving... more

I stayed here with my son last year. I couldnt find this listing until now, so thats why I am adding this so late. If you want to experience something very unique, you have got to stay here. I absolutly loved it, as did my son.. I'm 54, he is 27. It an idylic setting, a county home surrounded by... more

My wife and I have just returned home from a three night stay in this beautiful, historic house. This was our third time there, and we were sad to leave its friendly, relaxed atmosphere, and the attentive care of owner Roderick Perceval. We always enjoy the fact this is NOT a hotel: it is a home, and the ambience is... more

My brother and I spent 1 night here as part of a brief roadtrip round the northwest. It is truly unique and worth allocating a half a day to look at the artefacts, paintings and literature, walk the estate, sail in one of their boats on the lake or do nothing and soak up the atmosphere. If you don't have... more

It is so disappointing to read such a review. Welcoming guests to our home is usually very rewarding. Said it before, will say it again - we are not a hotel. We are however on cobweb alert!

My daughter and I had a very pleasant stay for 2 nights at Temple House while we explored family roots nearby. Staying at a manor house where you dine and socialize with other guests was a new experience for us and one which we much enjoyed. We felt like house guests at a lovely aristocratic home. The family dogs sat... more

We had the good fortune to spend a week at the Gardener's Cottage on the 1100 acre Temple House estate in County Sligo in April '08. A self-catering unit, the cottage was clean, spacious and comfortable with four bedrooms (three upstairs and one down) and two baths (one up and one down). It has a fully equipped kitchen that was... more

We spent a lovely night in Temple House in sligo. Its an old country house surrounded by acres and acres of fields. Roderick who owns the house is very welcoming and goes out of his way to make you feel at home. Its very old fashioned, bathrooms are modern though! The room we had was lovely, very comfortable bed. No... more

Temple House is very simply a gem. A rare gem at that. This is a manor house that dates back to the mid 19th century that still functions as a family home. I went with my girlfriend as a treat for her Birthday in late autumn 2006 and she wasn't disappointed. We were very impressed by the place, the food,... more
