This is a wonderful set of little houses, cabinas and tent sites, in a beautiful spot, run by a truly remarkable person. My wife and I and our 6 month old daughter just spent 10 days at Niki's place, on a trip where we had to juggle both work and fun, and had no end of logistical needs and questions.... more

I've been all over Mexico, but never to Punta Allen. I'm not one for crowds, so this fit the bill for me. People are friendly, and I felt like i was living the Mexican life. The long road in, is an indication that you are in for a bit of a surprise. Niki, the owner, knows where to go, what... more

My girlfriend and I had been in Cancun for a week. Boy, did we want out of there. I had been telling her about the "road from hell" for a long time. So the journey began. Seeing Serenidad Shardon was the sign we had finally arrived. There is nothing like Punta Allen for a very relaxing, foot in the water,... more

Me, my wife, two children, and three grand children (oldest being 4), spent 5 days here in the big cabana. The best family vacation ever! I have nothing negative to say. Forget other entries talking about the lack of coffee. Every morning, host made urns of coffee that were carried back to our cabana, and we had many. The house... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the cosy Casa luna just metres from the lapping waves. It was a great place to relax if you want to get away from it all by turquoise waters. Unfortunately I had food poisoning while in the area (source unknown) so bad that we really relied on the helpfulness of nicki the laidback owner.... more

This is a true beach hideaway in a tiny village/town. Lovely location, only a couple of hotels and only a couple of restuarants. Our hut was right on the beach - simple but perfect with fridge. Nikki (owner) is extremely friendly - treats you like a long-lost friend - and really makes the place stand out. It was a brilliant... more

Funky, fun, and personal is how I would describe my family's stay at Serenidad Shardon in Punta Allen, Mexico. We have two kids age 12 and 14 and enjoy a good adventure. Funky: we slept under mosquito nets in a thatch-roofed seaside cottage with a mermaid mural. The cottage has a great porch where you can lounge in a hammock... more

Just got back from a little backpacking tour of the Yucatan where we took a much needed fishing break for me to the town of Punta Allen. We stayed at Niki's place a.k.a. Serenidad Shardon. Niki is by far the best host I have ever had at any of my far away traveled locals. After only a few minutes we... more

I spent three days in this secluded fisherman village of Yucatan, and certainly staying at Serenidad Shardon gave the experience an added value. Here are some good reasons to stay with Niki if you ever go to Punta Allen: 1. Location: the complex (Serenidad is not just an hotel, but a complex of cabanas and houses distributed around a very... more
