A friend recommended this B&B as being 'excellent' so when we needed to stay in the area for a couple of nights I booked. The booking process was very easy and although the request for a King size bed had not been received by the owner, as soon as we arrived and made it known, our room was changed to... More

The Ovington House is a very welcoming, lovely B&B in the English countryside. Comfortable with nice views and an excellent breakfast. It's about 2 miles from the Prudhoe train station and 2 from the Hadrians wall trail, but transport is no problem. Of our 6 B&Bs that week, this was our favorite.

I stayed here 4 nights in early October doing some sightseeing in the area. The house and its grounds are lovely and the village very nice too. Bedrooms are very comfortable, there is no traffic noise at night and the breakfasts are excellent. Lynne is a very accommodating hostess, and welcomed me with a pot of tea also. Agree with... More

I booked in for 1 night and received a warm welcome, very comfy bed and excellent breakfast ; all B&B's should be as good!! The animals also make this a pleasant place to visit , Sally the horse enjoys a cuddle! The local views are outstanding and there is plenty of attractions within easy driving distance.

I stayed for three nights whilst working in the area. Very welcoming and accommodating on arrival. My car broke down and the owners even helped me to find a garage close to the b and b, and looked after my bags whilst I got it fixed. The breakfast was lovely and catered for vegetarians also. Very helpful, welcoming and great... More

We stayed here at the end of our holiday around mid-September for one night. We booked at very short notice and Lynne was very flexible on our arrival time as we wanted to pack as much as possible into our last full day. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and provided with a much welcome pot of tea. We had... More

If there was a prototype for how B&B's should be run, Ovington House could be a model - helpful without being intrusive, excellent breakfast with high quality ingredients, and very clean and fresh. Rooms have great, uninterrupted views and the decor is quintessentially 'English farmhouse'. It's near Hadrian's wall and lots of other things to see and do in the... More

Ovington House is on one side of a courtyard. I had a room looking out over this and could see fields beyond. The room was fine, the furniture a sort of shabby chic. Lynne was very welcoming, and we found we had a lot in common to talk about. It was the evening that the Olympic torch arrived in Newcastle,... More

By far the best B&B we have stayed in. The rooms are immaculate and fitted out with everything you could need, including hair dryer, towels, iron, brand new TV. The en-suite was almost the size of the bedroom!! The breakfast was delicious, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. However the nicest part of the stay has to be the host,... More

We had a night's stop-over at this b&b during our Hadrian's wall walk. Lynne cam to pick us up at the end of our day's walk and dropped us back the next morning. She was friendly and attentive and the breakfast was good. The rooms were of varying standard and we perhaps drew a short straw on this occasion. Could... More
