This was our second time to Ystad.
We had booked a double room with a sea view.
The room was very nice and clean, with an amazing view, but the bed frame was very noisy, so whenever you would lay down in it or move in your sleep, it would make a terrible sound.

We wanted to try The Creek Experience, but found most of it very boring, as you were just left to yourself in the group to just sit and wait in the different areas.
This could be very nice for some people, but for me and my boyfriend it was too much.

The food in restaurant Port was very delicious, and so was the breakfast buffet in the morning.

Since they were refurbishing the hotel, we were given (I believe every guest got it) a little kit, with earplugs, eye mask, soap or body lotion and a free drink card.
This was super good service and we weren’t even disturbed by any refurbishing.

Hello everyone. I spent a week of my summer vacation backpacking with my partner and we decided to end the trip with a stay overnight at the spa hotel.

We arrived with our big backpacks and were met with friendly and informative staff at the front desk and no queue time. The entire hotel was very presentable and decorative and relaxing atmosphere. The other guests seemed to be couples too and appeared to be enjoying their stay.

The room was perfect for us, with shower facilities, balcony and a very comfortable bed. We used the outdoor pool almost immediately to cool down and relax. Later we visited the outdoor pools that are heated, the Jacuzzi, the sauna, and the relaxation beds with an excellent view of the ocean.

In the evening we enjoyed our 3 course meal, the food quality and presentation was amazing. The portions were generous and service we received was very friendly and helpful.

Checkout was easy and no issues, we were able to leave our luggage safely in the luggage room that staff at the front desk manage access to so we could explore in town for most of the day.

Really impressed and happy we choose to stay here. I would recommend this to a friend.

This is a great facility, right on the beach in Ystad. When we checked in, we got a room on the first floor overlooking the pool and the back of the beds, so we asked for a different room on a higher floor and quickly got "upgraded". Happy about that! The new room was very nice, overlooking the beach and you could hear the waves.

Even though this is a nice resort, there are no people welcoming guests, taking luggage to the rooms, it is all very manual and you have to "do it yourself".

The pool area was nice and you receive a free glas of cava when you go down the first time, a nice touch! Breakfast was brought to the room due to covid and it was a nice selection.

We were not able to get a couples massage, the spa does not offer it and only at two separate times. Not ideal when you are on a romantic getaway!

Overall it is a nice resort but compared to similar places internationally the standard is not as high for the price you pay. We paid almost 3000 kr for our room and it was all very basic. I would recommend coming but it is enough to stay for one night and / or to visit the restaurant.

The hotel is quite famous in Sweden, as one of the gateway of many famous people. The location is quite nice, just in front of the sea, even if the growth of the seaweed makes the smell really bad, and this did not help our stay there. The beach is nice and white, but the quality of the sea is questionable. Of course this is nothing the hotel can manage. Rooms are small but nicely organized, and the bathroom is also quite fine. The premises are quite beautiful, with excellent views of the sea, and the people working there really friendly. The pools are also beautiful and indeed it is a quite “exclusive” place, or at least this the feeling they want to leave. This review is written during the coronavirus pandemic of 2020, and they offered to everyone breakfast directly delivered to the room, that is a nice thing as few hotels we visited took measures to avoid issues at breakfast time. In general it is quite expensive for what they give, but we got a very nice offer and in general it was worth the visit. Good if you want to visit Ystad; otherwise there are many nice place in Österlen.

Hi, Thanks for your review, we appreciate that you took the time! We are glad you had a nice stay with us here by the beach! Sometimes there is sea weed and it have a certain smell, not so pleasant..., so it was bad luck that it happened just when you were here. But fortunately you could swin in our pools inside the spa or in the outside pool if it happens. We are glad you think we are with a visit, and hope will come back soon again, Take care, Best Regards Maria Fridolf

We arrived shortly after 16:00 for the checkin for Sandshell by Night. It was a warm welcome, the staff gave us a hearty hello and as we had never been there before they also gave us a quick introduction to the area.

The room we received was small but versatile, presenting a nice queen size bed, tv, a balcony, and a bathroom.

Sandshell by night includes an early dinner with access to the spa from 20:00 to 24:00. The breakfast was open from 7:30 and from 12 we had access to the spa for another 2.5 hours.

We were pleasantly surprised with the setup. Having dinner before the spa meant that we could relax with full bellies. Not to mention that the dinner presented some of the best food I have had! The day after we went for an early breakfast, that due to current circumstances was delivered to the table, and it was again one of the best breakfasts we have had. The early breakfast allowed for a walk and a short sleep before venturing back to the spa. A perfect combination really as we were fully rested, before arriving at the spa to rest even more!

Cape Cod charm meets Hamptons hip: Like an upscale country club but chill enough to wear robes everywhere. We only stayed one night but enjoyed the hot tubs with views of the sea, lounging by the pool, a lovely dinner at Port with great service, and walk along the beach in the morning. Highly appreciate the thoughtful Covid safety precautions to book breakfast times and serve breakfast (rather than buffet). The only small negative was unfortunately we missed having a drink in the super cozy bar next to Port because we were told the only bar was the one by the pool, so maybe some better staff knowledge/helpfulness could take it to 5 star level. Overall an excellent experience - we will be back!

The room was a disappointment. The hardwood floor was broken and fixed with tape, it was the first thing you saw when you entered the room. Also a hanger had detached from the wall.
And I think it’s not ok to have a glass door into the toilet, wich also was the door to the shower. If it’s a 2 person room you like some privacy.
It’s sad when the rest of the building are so beautiful and stylish.

The hotel has improved considerably since our last stay ca. 10 years ago. The spa area is nice, though has only a dry sauna and warm pools, so unless you pay extra for the creek experience, it's quite limited compared to similar Swedish spa hotels that are a bit further from Copenhagen. The relaxation area with large beds overlooking the sea is amazing. Dinner with the wine menu was excellent. Our room was on the small size and the bathroom was extremely small and smelled strongly of sewage, so I hope that gets fixed. Our room was also very hot and we couldn't seem to adjust the temperature.

This renowned hotel has all it takes to become a top choice if you want to recharge your mental and physical batteries: a perfect location on the beach, a romantic wooden building, and high-quality spa facilities. Yet, our long-awaited long weekend there was spoiled by loud music wall to wall, even in toilets, the exterior spa area and in hallways outside rooms. Impossible to make conversation in the restaurant. The friendly servers were apparently only allowed to turn down the volume "one notch" as they said. And the reception staff made it clear that the hotel business concept is specifically aimed at customers who prefer a club atmosphere. If you are not in that group and had hoped to listen to the waves just outside your room, or merely speak with your friends during a meal, forget about choosing Ystad Saltsjöbad. Alas.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to give us your review and share your feedback. We appreciate all sorts of feedback, both positive and constructive - it is always useful to help us improve. With our concept Lido Club & Spa we tell our guests that we are both a pool club and a spa. In the pool club the music is crucial to set the tone that we want. In Lido we allow a more up beat vibe, where people can converse, laugh, enjoy each others company while sipping a cocktail perhaps. For those who wish to solely get some peace and quiet we offer Seaview Relax on the second floor of Lido Club & Spa - a place for anyone who wish to just relax or perhaps read a book. We also have our bookable Creek Experience, our guided spa ritual with influences from different parts of the world with rituals such as rasul and hamam. At the weekend the music plays a big part in the experience at Playground, where we invite DJ's, but also live bands in Bar Nero to add value for our guests. The music is a signature for Ystad Saltsjöbad and something we love! We will continue to play music - in the restaurants, live performances or even bigger events, such as dinners shows. Of course we still hope to see you back again some time in future and will make every effort to exceed your expectations. We welcome anyone to visit us and we do think there is something for everyone to enjoy! Best regards, Jacob Guest Excellence Manager
