The castle is, unquestionably, in a spectacular location and the rooms are acceptable (although the plastic insert shower stall was unfortunate). We spent a couple of nights at Castello di Ripa d'Orcia on our honeymoon. It provided us with a central location to explore Montepulciano, Montalcino and even Cortona!
