We have stayed here on 3 occasions and the initial high standard was maintained on all visits. The food is the equal of any top class restaurant and the service and ambience are excellent. To see many of the same faces each time tells its own story. more

26 years ago I was a newly qualified teacher working with a French lady teacher [Dominique] at a school in the Midlands. She wanted to see Scotland. Somehow we found "Willowburn" and I drove up in a battered Mini. The excellent food, the Isle, the friendlinest of all has remained with me all these years. This New Year I spent... more

The setting is tranquil, the surroundings outstandingly beautiful and the high standard of food is a delight to look forward to after a day's outing. Chef Chris uses lots of locally sourced ingredients which adds something special to the culinary delights at dinner. Jan... more

There is not an easy going feeling about this place anymore and it seems to be run like Stalag 14. No welcoming smile from the owner, food was certainly not as good as on two previous visits, and we would... more

Although we didn't stay at the Willowburn as residents, we have had dinner there on two separate occassions and both times have been exceptional. The setting is quiet and private, the ingredient's locally sourced and the menu and presentation are beyond improvement. An altogether wonderful experience. Highly recommended. more
