Stayed at this hotel for a night just for Mother's day when we were in Hokkaido. They have special packages on their website for the occasion which offer rooms with a view plus breakfast (Good if you know a little bit of Japanese as the packages are not available on their English website ). The hotel is about 20 mins... More

we stayed for 2 nights in this hotel after visiting Sapporo and Rusutsu... we wanted a relaxing japanese experience and we definitely got it... In order to get to Toya, we took the Donan bus (local bus) from Rusutsu Resort to Toya... and the motomachi bus stop is right in front of the hotel... Lobby is beautiful with an amazing... More

The hotel room has a fabulous view of Lake Toya. The dining room also offers excellent view. The buffet food is acceptable and the management separates individual customers from tour groups so that you can eat leisurely. But as many fellow travelers wrote, the bathroom got a smell. I checked everything and it is wiped clean. I suspect the smell... More

“Fantastic hotel” Booked 2 Japanese style room for 2 family of 5 adult & 4 children. Both room facing beautiful Lake Toya, very peaceful & quiet. Great view, Great food, Great outdoor onsen. ONSEN is a must, wonderful experience to enjoy the open air onsen when it was snowing. we loved it so much. The lobby is spacious with the... More

We had a western style room, much cheaper than western/japanese room. Meals were catered at the restaurant. Be sure to wear the yukata they provide to the restaurant as it seems of oil there and you have no desire for your own clothes to smell of that. The onsen was fantastic, especially the outdoor ones overlooking the lake.

This was the onsen hotel that I stayed in after my stay in Noboribetsu. Though in terms of scale, this is a much smaller hotel, I enjoyed this one more. Location: You can take a bus from JR Toya and drop off at the Moto Machi stop. The ride is about 15 minutes. If not sure, you may wish to... More

Compared to its sister resort, Noburubetsu Seikisuitei, this onsen resort is much quieter without the bus loads of tourists while we were there. It's smaller than its sister resort but no less pleasant. Staff are generally helpful, and lobby is equally big and spacious with many sofa chairs available for relaxing and using the free wifi in the lobby. The... More

The hotel is right in great location. The lobby is spacious with the nice view of the Toya lake. Recommend to pay a little bit more and stay in room with lake-view especially in summer where you can see the fireworks from your room. The room is a little bit small and has sign of old but it's clean and... More

I googled for many choices of hotels at Lake Toya and finally decided to go for Kohan tei after reading reviews from trip advisor. I booked from Japanican and the rate was very reasonable for a family of 4 (2 A 2 C) in a Japanese style room with breakfast (restaurant) and japanese style Dinner in the room. They prepared... More

I found this hotel to be absolutely perfect. The room we were given was beyond expectations. It was very large with two beds on one side and Japanese tatami, low table and zabutons on the other. The view of Lake Toya from our room was fabulous! The lobby was beautiful and nicely decorated. The staff were very friendly. The buffet... More
