My husband and I stayed in Bastad, Sweden for one night en route from Gotenborg to Copenhagen. We actually stayed in the annex building of Hotel Skansen (which is where the less expensive rooms are). The exterior of the annex building was cluttered with lots of cardboard boxes, crates, etc, which was a bit off-putting (probably due to set-up for a tennis tournament). I believe we paid the equivalent of about $120 for the room, which was quite small but clean and tasteful. The main hotel building was beautiful - we enjoyed our wonderful complimentary breakfast at a table overlooking the sea. I am sure that the rooms there would be quite nice. I would return to Hotel Skansen, and most definitely to Bastad. We loved the waterfront, the restaurants, the quaint houses lined with rosebushes, the shops, and if we were sports fans, we would have enjoyed the tennis. Bastad is a beautiful town!
