The refugios managed by Fantastico Sur were more rustic and may have had inconsistent hot water but were so much better than Paine Grande in terms of service, staff and atmosphere. no vehicles or roads here, we hiked in, had hot showers and a great meal with fresh king crab from punta arenas. rooms were dormitory style. we had a one bunkbed private room for a couple, with shared bath. room had electrical outlet, radiator heater and large window you could open with a spectacular view of the mountians. several lounge... more

Great location for trekking in Torres del Paine. The rooms were very clean and the food was pretty good for a buffet service. The only problem was that there were only two showers working for ladies at the time and lots more rooms than that. I'll definitely recommend it if you are going to TdP. more
