One of the 1st hostels of our round trip in Iceland, so that left a bad feeling. Rooms were tiny, old and there was only one bathroom for the whole house. Breakfast was expensive, but food was ok. Staff was clearly not made to work in a guesthouse. Avoid if you can.

Really, the title sums it up. The photo on here of the red building looks cute, but you don't stay there. You are housed in one of 2, maybe 3? other buildings, converted houses really. But this was one of the most expensive places we stayed in our 2 week trip in Iceland and we were really disappointed in the... More

We booked sleepingbag accommodation based on the description on the site (sittingroom, small kitchen available) for a price given by mail 20 euro per person per night. We arrived after 22.00 hrs because of the late arrival of the ferry to Stykkisholmur. We mentioned this upon booking, but when we arrived we were not welcomed in a friendly way and... More

We found the attitude here very relaxed and comfortable. We were not initially reassured by this, because we were concerned that things might be inefficient or poorly organised. We needn't have worried, however. The staff did all they could to offer genuine friendly service. We wondered if the prices for food and excursions were unreasonable too, and again what we... More

Our room was bare bones simple. We knew the bathroom would be shared with the other rooms and we were lucky that it was usually free when we wanted it. We're glad we stayed in the area -- a nice drive there and a different one back, and near the hotel an amazing scenic walk along the shore.

The location is great, - right between the sea (300 metres) and the Snaefellsjökull (2 km). But the rooms are terrible, because what they call "walls" are just wallpapers. The rooms are not in the nice red building, .... they are in a white building where you share 1 toilet/shower with 14 people! Imagine someone taking a shower for 20... More

I have booked a room 1 month ago, i wanted to spend some day at this place. The guesthouse is not easy to find, there was nobody at the reception, the doors were closed, nobody to join, the guesthouse doesn't correspond to the house with grass on the top.... very bad experience.
